District Officer John Chubb of Dublin Fire Brigade has been hugely influential in transforming Dublin's response to tall and complex buildings over the last 10 years. He has traveled to areas such as Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, the UK, and the USA. Taking lessons from every stop combing those examples of good practices and adopting them into his own service, He has worked with some of the most influential people in the sector including Paul Grimwood UK, John Norman FDNY, Jerry Tracey FDNY, Michael Reick Germany , Stefan Svenson Sweden, Steve Kerber and many more mainly from Canada.(sorry for any misspelt names above) John introduced the novelty pieces of equipment into DFB like smoke curtains, smooth-bore nozzles (branches) for high-rise firefighting, 52mm hose, Denver pack (as opposed to Cleveland roll) hose deployment, and also included hose stretches and management into the trainee initial development courses.
