116. Going for What Your Heart Wants is the Logical Way
from Career Design Notes - Real decisions. Real trade-offs. Real career redesign. · host Sharon Singh Sidhu
This week’s podcast episode is about something I notice a lot of people (including me) do.And that’s making excuses and rationalizing something we know in our hearts we want, but because it involves some scary moves, we tell ourselves that’s not the practical, realistic thing to do.So we continue telling ourselves it’s better that we stick to what we know is the safer option, the more ‘responsible’ option and try to push away what we feel in our heart.Living this way is out of alignment with your true self. This true inner self knows what she wants. Sometimes, this choice is the more difficult one. But it’s the one that could lead to a richer, more fulfilling life.Instead of rationalizing it away, how about embracing it, then use that rational mind of yours to figure out how to make it work? This shift in perspective from what’s impossible to how we can make it possible is the difference between settling for second best or going out and creating your perfect dream life!
