116) Hannah Huesman - Improving Mental Performance and Mindset Skills

from CamBro Conversations · host Colin Campbell

Today's conversation is with Hannah Huesman. Hannah is the Mental Performance Coordinator at the Texas Rangers, and has worked with the FDNY, MLB, Business executives, actors, and athletes of all ages. I first became aware of Hannah at the end of 2019 and she has been in LinkedIn’s Top 10 Voices in Sports for 2020 and 2021. Expect to learn about Hannah’s path to her current position including her own college sports career and academic choices. I find out what a day and week looks like in the role of Mental Performance Coordinator at an elite sports team, how to secure athlete buy in, and examples of maximising an athlete’s physical performance by working on their mental game. Importantly, we discuss the differences between Mental Health and Mental Performance and what we can proactively in this space. Hannah is well known as the host of Mental Sweat Monday – one minute videos shared online that help us work on their mental game. As part of this, we touch on some of the key topics I’ve loved seeing Hannah discuss on Mental Sweat Monday including building true confidence, overcoming self doubt, and improving your mindset around failure. This is an incredible conversation and Hannah is a source of knowledge, passion, and energy. This week's podcast is brought to you by MTN Coaching. Founder, David Hatt has appeared a number of times on the podcast to share his wisdom on business and fitness. David heads up a team of 7 coaches who come together to form Scotland's leading online fitness coaching service.
