#116 How cooking for Bill Gates sparked a food revolution with Saima Khan

from The Unconventionalists with Mark Leruste · host Mark Leruste

What do Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, the Obamas, Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg and Bradley Cooper have in common? They've all had the pleasure to sit down and taste Saima Khan's unique middle-eastern inspired food that tastes as delicious as it is beautiful. That's right in today's episode I sit down with Saima Khan, Founder of The Hampstead Kitchen who after bumping into one of the world's most foremost business magnets ditched her career as a six-figure banker to become a high end private chef, caterer for the Hampstead crowd and  champion of those in need. If you’ve been listening to the show for a while then you’ll know that I love a good story. In fact, it’s why I started The Unconventionalists back in 2015, to broadcast meaningful conversations to change people’s lives. And today’s episode is no different. In fact, as you’ll hear, you really couldn’t have invented Saima’s story of how she ditched her risk prevention spreadsheets to travel the world to create middle-eastern inspired plate spreads. And what really stood out for me was the resilience and courage Saima demonstrated despite all her set backs and challenges, and how she's always put philanthropy at the heart of everything she does. Including hiring ex offenders, ex homeless people and refugees. In case you needed another reminder of the importance of committing to your target audience, to not be afraid of honouring your niche and to learn to say no to business opportunities, even if it means loosing out on financial income, this episode is for you. I’d love to hear what you think of our powerful conversation! Make sure to tag me @markleruste and Saima @hampsteadkitchn over on social media. I honestly can't wait to hear what you got out of today's interview.
