#116 Patriotism and Peace Education in Japan/Okinawa and Germany

Haitai people. We welcome Mabu, a self-proclaimed language nerd from Germany! We sat down to chat about a wide range of topics, including war and peace education in Germany, Japan, and Okinawa, as well as the concept of patriotism. (00:16:39) Motivation for Learning Japanese and Linguistic Interest / 日本語学習のきっかけと言語への興味(00:20:26) Impressions of Japanese Culture and Differences in Respect Cultures / 日本文化への印象と尊敬文化の違い(00:25:01) War Education in Germany / ドイツの戦争教育(00:34:36) Comparison with War Education in Japan / 日本の戦争教育との比較(00:48:21) Cultural Differences Between Okinawa and Mainland Japan / 沖縄と本州の文化の違い(00:58:10) Difference Between Pride and Confidence / 「誇り」と「自信」について(01:05:44) Better to be able to understand English / 英語できることのメリット#愛国心#平和教育#沖縄戦#慰霊の日#ホロコースト#patriotism #PeaceEducation#History#Germany#Okinawa
