#116: True Crime With Nicolás Obregón

We begin our episode with our annual Edgar Allan Poe toast to celebrate Halloween. This year we read Spirits of the Dead and then discuss Poe's booze of choice. We also talk about the absinthe we drank for the toast. After that, we are super excited to have Nicolás Obregón back on the podcast. Author of the Inspector Iwata trilogy—featuring the novels Blue Light Yokohama, Sins as Scarlett, and Unknown Male—Nic is the host of the new true crime podcast, Faceless.  Throughout this episode, we discuss the infamous Setagaya family murder that occurred in Tokyo in the year 2000. The murder was so brutal that it not only shocked Japan, it changed its society. We cover some possible theories of the murders as well as discuss some things that didn't make it on Faceless (put out by USG Audio, the podcast arm of Universal Studio Group). At the end of the episode, Nic tells us about his current projects and we discuss writing for a bit.
