For the cold open, we have a quick chat about nostalgia and how it might be ruining fiction. After that, poet and fiction writer Bryce Johle joins us to discuss some of the problems with modern fiction and to a degree, modern TV and movies as well. Some of the issues we discuss are how modern fiction isn't challenging, doesn't take artistic risks, has boring characters, and many other things.
