from Motherland Australia · host Stephanie Trethewey
Olympic gold medalist Giaan Rooney shocked the swimming world when she retired at just 23 , and she hasn't swum a lap since. Her professional career both in and out of the pool has been widely publicised, but her personal life including her motherhood journey and her recent move to the land is something I'm very excited to share with you. Giaan is married to a fifth generation cattle farmer, but the couple recently make a bold move buying a macadamia farm, and they're have a real crack! This is her story.NOTE: Giaan lives just 20 minutes out of the flood ravaged town of Lismore and we recorded this episode a couple of weeks before the Queensland/NSW flood crisis began. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. More donations are needed, so please help if you can. Below are some organisations that need support to assist those who have lost their homes and their livelihoods. https://www.givit.org.au/https://lismore.nsw.gov.au/flood-2022-informationhttps://www.redcross.org.au/https://www.foodbank.org.au/https://www.instagram.com/motherlandaustralia
