#1181 : Détection d'un 5ème cercle radio "bizarre", un ORC

Le 13 février dernier, je vous relatais dans le numéro 1134 de Ça Se Passe Là-Haut la découverte de quatre objets un peu étranges dans le domaine radio qui forment des cercles quasi parfaits de grande dimension. Ils ont été baptisés ORC (Odd Radio Circles). Aujourd’hui c’est un nouveau spécimen qui vient d’être observé par une équipe à dominante australienne. Une étude publiée dans Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society sous le titre Discovery of a new extragalactic circular radio source with ASKAP: ORC J0102–2450.
