11th Annual Battle on ‘Bago Tourney AND Lake of the Woods Fishing Report
from Ultimate Outdoors Radio Show
Glenn Curran, Tournament Director for “Battle on Bago” is joining us to talk about this great tournament – The 11th Annual Battle for Bago.“Battle on Bago was created in 2007 by a group of five Oshkosh Southwest Rotarians in order to support area youth and conservation efforts throughout the state of Wisconsin. Beneficiaries receiving funds from Battle on Bago embody the mission statement of the event “For Kids & Conservation” and serve as just the beginning of a long list of organizations and youth Battle on Bago will benefit in the future.”There are new rules for 2018, the biggest change being Walleye size limitations: Ice Fishing Permitted ONLY. You can weigh 1 fish per fishing ticket of any of the following species: Walleye (minimum length 14-18” & 22” or longer), panfish (perch, bluegills, crappies), or whitebass. Any other fish not listed here will not be eligible for registration. Fish may be taken with tip-ups or by rod and reel. There is no age requirement on tournament participation. And we welcome Joe Henry, of Lake of the Woods Tourism, has graciously agreed to come back and talk with us and give us a fishing report on Lake of the Woods, Minnesota…one of the best fisheries in the USA and known as THE WALLEYE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. Joe will fill us in on the many places to fish, accommodations, and some of the many family activities in the area!
