12/17/2023: Ep 29.1: Matthew 2:1-12

In Matthew 2:1-12 we see the gifts the Wise Men brought to Jesus – gold, frankincense, and myrrh – symbolizing his royalty, priestly role, and sacrificial death. The three gifts points to who Jesus is, with gold representing Jesus' divine nature and grace, frankincense highlighting his sympathetic and perpetual priesthood, and myrrh foretelling his sorrows and triumphant salvation.
