12/23: Winter storm causes travel nightmare for millions Americans. The January 6th Committee issues its final report.

from CBS Mornings on the Go · host CBS News

A historic winter storm is raging across several states at this very moment. People are urged to use extreme caution when getting around on icy roads, and in whiteout conditions. Along with the snow, it's also bitterly cold in much of the country, and thousands have lost power, making conditions even worse. Today is expected to be the second busiest travel day around Christmas and New Year's. Already more than 3,100 flights in the U.S. have been canceled, and more than 900 others are delayed. The January 6th committee released its final report. It finds that, "the central cause of January 6th was one man, former President Donald Trump." The House Select Committee argues that due to his alleged involvement in the violence of that day, Trump should be barred from holding office in the future. Now to *breaking news* out of france - where authorities say at least three people have died, after a gunman opened fire just north of central Paris. FTX founder Sam Bankman-Freed has been released on $250 million bond after his first court appearance in the U.S. An update on a bizarre scandal surrounding Long Island Congressman-elect George Santos. A New York Times investigation suggests he fabricated parts of his life story -- including his education, his work history, and even his ethnic background.
