12/4-12/6/20: Diving Deep into Warner Bros' Decision to Move All 2021 Films to HBOMax / Theatrical Simultaneous Release, And The Industry Reactions | Legendary Pictures Threatens Legal Action over Godzilla v Kong and Dune | Monster Hunter Banned in China Over Racist Joke

In this episode we dig into the industry-rocking news that Warner Bros will be sending all 17 films on their 2021 film slate to a simultaneous release on both HBOMax and in Theaters, similar to the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 release. We dig into the rationale on why they did this as a Hail Mary effort to jumpstart flagging HBOMax subscriber numbers, and how different parts of the industry - Exhibitors, Other Studios, and Producers and Talent - are impacted and how they are reacting. With bonus coverage of the Legendary Pictures upcoming legal action over Godzilla v Kong and Dune. Plus we look at how Monster Hunter screwed up in China, the one market that really mattered to them, over a 10 second racist joke.
