12【Alissa】 My impression of the latest “Galileo” movie in the series.

I went to see the movie, Chinmokuno parade, which is the latest of the Galileo series. It’s a mystery series where the main character, a physicist, Professor Yukawa, solves difficult murder cases with a detective. The first movie I watched in the series was “Yogisha X no Kenshin”. My husband insisted we absolutely had to see this movie, so I watched it without any expectations and no prior knowledge about Galileo. It blew my mind! I was left speechless by the end of it. It really went above and beyond my expectations! Now the latest one is being screened after 8 years, so I was really looking forward to watching it. It was good. Definitely not a bad movie, but to be honest, it didn't resonate with me as much as I expected. I couldn't really get into the story. When I watched Yogisha X no Kenshin, they dragged me into that world. There were many twists and turns, plus there was an undeniable humanity expressed through the characters that made a strong impression and really stuck with me. It was the kind of movie that makes you think about what love is all about. Whereas I think this newer movie had too many characters which perhaps made the story a little convoluted. I didn't know who to sympathize with. Besides, the plot wasn’t really that good. Even though there were some surprises, like a trick they used, or an unexpected reason for something happening, it wasn’t very convincing. I guess it’s always very difficult for a sequel to live up to the original. Maybe that’s because a movie has to be great for them to want to make a sequel in the first place. All that being said, I still enjoyed the movie, and I hope another one will come out in the near future.
