Alright, we're testing again. I think this is fine. I think it's fine too. Can we just begin?

Sure. Okay. Wait, so Carolyn doesn't like the music? Carolyn was afraid to tell me that she didn't like the intro music.

Our intro music. Yes. Okay. Um, I don't like it that much either Oh, no, I I was like no, it's a joke.

That's why I thought we've never actually talked about this before but I thought it was probably a joke because it was so bad Yeah, I was like maybe I really like to listen to something podcast. No, it sounds like weird podcast intro music. That's the joke. Yeah, um And she was good to work finding that out now.

Hey guys, it's a joke. Like the whole thing is a joke. Right. Like I mean, this is the two girls talking podcast.

That's not even what you're supposed to say. I so I like had to get into music because like it has to be you have to know that it's a getting but I didn't know what the rules were about like what music you can use. And um, and I was worried about like getting in trouble. Yeah, worst of all having to like a re-edit podcast after we got in trouble.

Your eyes got so big just then and I understand. Yeah, no re-editing. No re-editing. I don't even do the editing because I can't.

My hands are broken. Right. I'm dead. So I had to so I went through like the free stuff on my on my computer that said I could use it with anything and that was like this one.

I was like, okay, sure. This is dumb podcast music. But she was like nag or after music. That's totally like good for your thing.

And I was like, yes, that I got from like free songs. Com or something super different than free music. Free music was on the computer. Another riveting tale from the annals of two girls talking history.

Yeah, so let me explain to you how I download things. Yeah, poorly and not very often. Yes, we didn't record for many times. We're so sorry.

Oh, I'm not sorry. I mean, people asked me. Yeah, barely that. A person at work asked me because he doesn't actually listen.

I don't think. Oh, I was counting him in the three. Bush, if you actually listen to this, tell me the words green dragon and I'll know that you're a true believer slash listener. Or give her a hundred dollars.

Either one. I'll take either one. But yeah, I think he was just I think he subscribed. He doesn't actually listen.

So I just updates and he's noticed a lack of updates. Andrew are number one fans. I mean email, which I didn't read. Because because in my head, I was like, I'm gonna read this on my computer and reply to it.

But then somehow I actually like marketed as red. And so. Never again. That happens.

I've never seen it before. But he basically said something like what happened? Are the two girls not talking anymore? Oh, no, we're talking.

I felt like maybe he was hunting for drama or maybe he was just a major. It sounds like both, which is him. Oh, no, we're talking. We're just not sharing it because we're in bleasy.

Yeah, we talk every day all the time about many things and most of it would maybe be of interest to others, but most of it also not. So we record it. So the last podcast we recorded, we actually didn't publish. So then I had basically like a panic attack about the episode because I was like, I talked about personal stuff and I was I wanted to talk about it and I was drinking to make it easier.

Unfortunately, when I was in the end, I was like, I was like, I was I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was editing it. I was so big mistake. And I was like, no, I can't listen to this. It's too hard.

So I told Amanda she has to edit it. So, you know, and then I forgot it promptly and never did it. Amanda said, no, I could never learn how to use that software. Amanda, who works in technology, software that is free on every computer and did hours and hours of audio editing in college.

Did too hard anyway. Abigail, big things for you this week. You want to talk to us? I moved.

Why did you move? How are you moving? Where are you moving to? What's happening?

It's really complicated. Okay, what's like your one sentence thing? My one sentence thing is that I got a vintage travel trailer. What?

Which I have to say, I'm acting surprised, but I already knew. So everyone knows that. So I don't know why you. I don't know.

I was trying to create a narrative for maybe people that aren't in mesh in our daily lives, but I think probably all the other four people who are in mesh. So I bought a vintage travel trailer and I'm going to live in it in travel. That's so exciting. It is very exciting.

I'm stoked. I'm very jealous, especially throwing away all your belongings. Throwing away all my belongings. Like, I quit all my jobs and then I was like, I'm gonna be self-employed.

And then I did it and it happened. Yeah. It was like, ah, magic. It is magic.

And then I was like, how do I make magic continue? Well, diversification. Well, because I'm not making like a million dollars. So it's not real magic where I'm like, oh, I'll be in time.

Next month, peace out. Right. So I was like, I need magic. That is super magic.

Not really magic. No, California's the worst. I mean, I love it and I'm obsessed, but also everything's a million dollars. I know.

I've been looking at tattoos lately because I really kind of like another one and there's so many gorgeous wildflower watercolor tattoos and more and more. I think I'm probably going to get some sort of like golden California poppy Icelandic poppy double feature. But yeah, so that and then there's also a girl that is like a single string of lavender or whatever and it looked really cool. And I was like, uh, I think it's sort of a California outline or something with hobbies or something.

So I'm not locked in a lot. Probably last. Should we make a topic? Oh, where are we talking about my life?

We were. Did you want anything else to say about it? It's exciting new adventures. It's exciting new adventures.

And maybe we'll do like a on the road special. Yeah, we'll do like a like a like a corner. I love that. You can tell us all the new things you learned about each place you go.

Yeah, or near murders that happened to you as you go. Yeah, or I can talk about like really buying stuff like this is the stuff I learned when I was shopping for a new car. And let me explain to you how I learned how to tow because that's what the next six weeks, six weeks, eight weeks, no, I want fun non murder stories. I don't want towing stories.

I can get those anywhere else on the Internet. Give me something different. We'll see. Stay tuned.

All right. So the cats are traumatized. You're staying with some friends right now. Yeah, I'm staying with some friends.

They have kids. The cat keeps behind you. It keeps looking at the door every time he hears like a tiny noise at his eyes and mouth like drop. Like he looks like terrified as if he's going to go every single time he hears a weird noise in the other part of the house.

So what has been going on around here? And so I'm staying with some friends and the cats are like, I mean, the cats have been ripped from the only home they know. Um, they slowly watched it after day as stuff just happened disappearing out of the house as people came to buy my stuff and like they don't really like it would come over anyway. Like they don't like when strangers come over.

So that was like bad enough. But then also just like everything was disappearing and I was explaining to someone. I was like, it's like if you woke up one morning and you your bed was there because you were sleeping in it, but nothing else was in the house. That's the best kind of house.

But you didn't know where it had gone. That'd be fine. And then you couldn't be sad about it. And then your roommate asks, acts like everything's normal.

That would be weird. And is like, oh, what do you want for breakfast? And like, sort you up your breakfast. You're like, where's all my stuff?

All my memories of my family and grandmother. And you go out to the car. Uh huh. But it's not there.

Yeah. So that's how the cats feel right now. And then I brought them here to the house of children. And there's three children here, five under.

And I kept my bedroom door open because it's not central air. So like in order for the air condition to get in here, which has to happen because we live on the sun. A million degrees. By the way, it has been a bajillion degrees in Los Angeles this week.

Every podcast I listen to that's recorded in LA, like the first 20 minutes are people being like, sorry, I'm really recording this. It's so hot. We can't live. Which is another reason why we haven't recorded to be honest.

Yeah. No, every time I come over, it's like business only because I move at the pace of a snail. Cause it's so hot. It takes me like three hours to get here and I'm tired.

Yeah. What a fun. Excuse. Excuse.

Excuse. Cast is our new podcast. We're just making excuses for not having done things. Excuse cast is like this.

This is not. It's really boring. It is boring. How can we make it more exciting?

We are let us do current event court. Okay. Current event corner is there's like an election happening. There is the Democratic National Convention tonight.

They'll just finish giving us speech and the RNC was last week. Yes. They have a week. They have another weekdays because that's what people watch TV.

Did you watch either of them? No, I didn't. But I saw some, you know, yes on Facebook. Yeah.

I follow along on Twitter mostly because people retweet every line of every week. I hate Twitter. I hate Twitter. I hate it too, but it's useful for following along in certain events.

But how do you even follow along? I mean, it's just like chaos. Well, because if everybody on my timeline is watching the same thing, which they all are, because people who have pre-scatled posts, then they'll be like, for the most part, there's like some people who don't tweet very often. But the people who tweet a lot are watch both the RNC and then the DNC.

So they were just tweeting about, you know, speeches and stuff. Opinions. Yep. Thoughts, feelings.

Yes. Everyone loves Michelle Obama speech. Oh, yeah. No, everyone loves their mind.

And then Bill Clinton speech tonight was very, I thought a great primer on all of Hillary's achievements and accomplishments. Cool. I haven't read any response on that yet because I've been. Certainly because I was moving.

Yeah. At the other one, I don't know. There's drama. I don't know.

I'm very like, yeah, I mean, I've always been pretty like, what's the word? Yeah, I'm very pro third party. I've always been like annoyed by the two party system. And by always, I mean, since I was 20 maybe, before that my family is very, very political.

And so I was very involved when I was in high school, like doing calling campaigns, door door stuff, just getting people to vote and register to vote or whatever, stuff like that. I worked at precincts or whatever they're called. Is that the word? Yeah, voting for something.

Oh, that's not what I mean. I had court campaign headquarters, like day of election. And this was before I came out. This was when I was 17.

And most passionate base. Oh, the non voting base. And so I like love the idea of it. And then older, I got them where I was like, oh, the idea is the only thing to love about this.

Yeah, my execution is what makes the decision. Exactly. Execution is awful lobbying. Like, like every candidate, like every candidate just has to be like out of amalgamation of like what people want them to be.

No one's actually doing. And I actually heard this really good interview with so it was on the Rob cast with Rob Bell. And he interviewed this woman whose name I don't remember because I'm terrible, but she is a Senator or Congresswoman from Hawaii, US, US Congress person from Hawaii. And she's Republican.

And she is a minority. I think she's Japanese maybe. And she is one of the Republicans who's anti Trump and tends to be kind of outspoken about different stuff. She's a lot more moderate than say like some of the stereotypical Republican platforms, which Hawaii tends to be a more liberal state in general.

So I heard someone once they were describing like in Tallahassee Florida, how it's like liberal. They were like a Democrat in Tallahassee. It's the same as a Republican in California. That's funny.

Yeah. So she was talking about she didn't have a party allegiance when she first started working in politics. She was basically like basically like I forgot. She was sort of court clerk.

So she was helping file papers and stuff. And that's how she got interested in politics. And she decided to run in an election that was like where there was an opening. She didn't really care about the party, a local election.

And eventually became the role she's in. But she said that like she said something really interesting about how sometimes she'll have an opinion about something. And she can't vote her opinion because all of her people in her district are calling her wanting something specific. And this was like when she was working a little more locally.

So whether it was like you know county regulations or what. And she was like yeah, so like I have to do that thing. And I'm like a you don't hear politicians saying that enough. I feel like the only time it comes up is in elections.

And then it's like which is the wrong time to do it because it's lying at that point. Right. They're just saying what people want to hear. Anyway, I hit the party system because it creates this like dynamic of like these are the rules of this party.

These are the beliefs of this party. This is how things should be run. And I just feel like it's a lot more complicated than that to run a country. It is but most people don't even understand the nuances of it.

Like I was having a conversation with some friends the other night and a couple of them had been drinking so they weren't quite as sharp as maybe they normally would be. And they probably like believed more in their opinions than they would if they were so far. Maybe. And one person who was not drinking very much actually had quite a bit of facts about you know both Trump and Sanders and Hillary.

And so then they would try and bring something up and he'd be like oh no I mean Hillary's held that position since this year at this point she did this. And it was like oh you are someone who actually paid attention and has known about politics for quite a while. The difference in talking to that person was astounding rather than someone who's only interested in politics in an election year. And that's kind of what bugs me as people are like oh yeah this matters.

And he's like so many seats in Congress are up for renewal right now. That's what people should be concerned about. And people should be concerned about like their towns. Like the school board for example.

I mean I have a lot of friends that are teachers and it's shocking how the school board, the elected officials, are almost at odds in a battle with the actual administration teachers at the school. It's so complicated. And it's like yeah no you should like especially if you have kids that are going to the public school system like you need to be involved. Be involved.

Care about that. You need to care about your state legislature because so much of your tax dollars and the streets you drive on and all of that. Like the things that are actually having to do with your life. Yeah.

Because that was my argument kind of because one of my, someone I'm very close to is like a huge Bernie fan and he's always like you know oh you should care more about this or whatever. Which I mean I love burning sure he's great doesn't seem to have a concrete plan for a lot of things but that's fine. Nobody needs to. And my whole thing was like yeah I feel like Obama 2008 was the last time that I really thought things could be different or things could change or.

And I feel like that is sort of like the lie of politics that oh one person could change everything. Right. Why is that the platform we're running. Well right now I was like no if I remember Obama's campaign so I'm not quite affected the same way a lot of people I know were by Bernie's campaign.

I'm like oh yeah no it's the same thing like but we just went through that so nobody's gonna like do go for it again you know. Why do you think that is that I feel like us discussing Bernie's campaign is like the most outdated thing we could possibly do on the show. Which keep in line with our brain or hiatus. I just did just stop me because I was like oh I already believed in this one time and it's fine like Obama's been a great president I think but like again I felt really disillusioned over those eight years.

Like why are you disillusioned. Just because I think it really came home during that time like that one person can't really make that big of a difference. Which is good. It's fine.

That's great. Like there's a checks and balances for a reason. But just that you can't also panel your hopes on that and that's really like a naive way to see things like oh this one person I care once every four years. The audacity of hope.

Yeah yeah yeah yeah. But I mean I don't know. And so it just from the beginning I was like no no I mean everything is pointing to the fact that they want Hillary to be the nominee and that's just what's gonna happen. So what's the point in like having any kind of other plan about it.

And I'm glad that she's very seasoned career politician who seems to know what she's doing and is less destructive than a lot of other people. So yeah I mean it's fine. I mean no one is good is the problem. Right.

And I want to be in opposition as a good person anyway. No one who yeah no one who's life has led to the point at which they're on a national platform. Right. For this position has clean hands anyway.

Right exactly. And that's and that's why like I vote third party. First of all I work in a I live in a state that is not a are they called swing states. Yeah.

They're not a swing state. And for exactly but I'm not a Texas not a swing state. Yeah but Ohio. Yeah.

So there's a lot less pressure to like quote make my vote count. Which makes it a lot easier for me to just do what I want. But I've always like felt like it's important for me to vote. There are other candidates on the ballot always.

It's not like one to write in. And I've always looked up those people and picked the one that actually speaks to not only my political values which tend to be moderate which. Sure. There's no space for.

There's not. There's no space for. And then of course like I'm looking for people who aren't spending a million dollars on campaigns. Because I don't I don't the economics of no campaign finance reform is like way more important than most issues that people obsess with.

I just wish that problem. I just I listened to like I listened to so many podcasts that go into like all the different like things in our country that could or could not work because of the way things are like oh we can't even fix this extra open thing because of all these loopholes. Most of the time that's the best. And part of it I think our country is too big.

I said it. Bold move states rights man. I personally will be voting for Hillary because I don't want to be like oh I could have done more to present prevent a Trump presidency in any way. I mean basically nothing matters.

Sure that too. And I don't want Trump to be president. Yeah. But if he somehow became president somehow it would like work out not that he would be the president but maybe something would happen or like.

What do you say? I'm saying you can get impeached for any number of the crazy things. Yeah. He just gets pushed in the room closet.

I don't know. I know. It's just like I honestly so I guess that's hard for me to is like trying to imagine how people can be like oh someone who's really experienced a governing. It's I guess it's just single party voters or single issue voters and then like I mean so I get why people are in the Trump because it's not about the person itself.

It's anti-establishment which I totally am down for like I'm anti-establishment but I just person says so many things. Right. No exactly endless messed up. I totally agree but like I think that as millennials were a lot more judgmental of people saying messed up things than generations.

Yeah. And so for us we're like how could you concede and they're like people say messed up things ha ha ha. Race is Bob you know. Yeah.

And it's just like I'm not saying that's the right thing to do or like that's the way our country should move towards like of course not but I'm saying I get it and I wish there was. I wish there was a better anti-establishment. Well I mean that's why like Bernie I felt like he was pretty anti-establishment. He was he just had like I honestly felt like from the beginning I saw I was just like oh man no it's it's gonna be what I was wrong about.

I thought it was gonna be really ugly but I was like Bernie this just isn't happening like they're not gonna let this happen again. So well and like the thing is I like what was really interesting is that like Trump and Bernie both were like doing very well unexpectedly. Like very much so and that just shows that people really want something different. They do but they can't fight against the establishment.

But like you're not going to succeed against the but we want to is what I'm saying. Sure but that doesn't matter. Functionally like look at how it functionally played out. I know well I mean at least honestly Trump again let me clarify I do not think he should be president or the president or he's a good person or he's a representative of Christians anymore.

No that argument really makes me upset that people are like he's a good Christian and I'm like that is yet another one of his insane things that he's saying. Right no and that's that's the part that really like that is surely not fault for that one of all. It's very like I have a lot of Christian Facebook friends who have been like well no they've been super offended by that specifically. I mean how were we to judge?

I have no I have one Facebook friend. A lot of people really. Yeah I have a couple that are like it's people from college or whatever they don't talk to very much anymore. Oh that's like all of my people I don't talk to anymore.

Mine were just still amazed at like people's lack of I would say knowledge about Hillary and like willingness to paint her as like one thing. Because like even these two people I talked to the other night with my friend where they are very intelligent people who know a lot about the world like every time he brought up one of her accomplishments they were like oh she did that and like she's a lawyer she's like all these things. Yes like she's not some random. Well and honestly like I mean it's hard to know everything about everything right.

Yeah it is. And it's so like it's like that's I try to not have like I think about the narrative in which I've always even painted or like how they're always trying to like play experience for people you know and it's like oh he's the junior senator from Illinois or whatever you know. And for a Bush it was like he is the governor and he's this and this and this and this you know I feel like you knew a lot more about like that he was touted a lot more. But you've always known the things about her right.

I didn't even know something he was saying I was like oh shit. But was he saying stuff like Bush is the governor or was he saying stuff like I was detailed stuff. Right exactly that's what I'm saying you don't know the details about those other people. Everything is broad strokes it all sucks I hate it all.

I hate politics. I do too mostly because it is sort of a false thing. Nothing matters. It takes over for like two years every two years.

And it really should be about local politics and about like actually knowing the issues and knowing the candidates. And obviously it's impossible to know everything about everything so like pick something. And not just like being wagging it up. I don't know.

The end. This was almost the end. But this was the first election where I really felt like because like my political views on Facebook from college have said like the men with the money make the rules. And I think that's the first year where I really felt like that's even more true than I ever could have imagined.

It really is just like whoever has the most money is going to win. Whether it's lobbyists. Whether it's like there's only things that we don't have control. Don't get me started on that.

Right. So like just things where it feels so hopeless to even. It's like I'm not care about other things. I'm going to do what I can.

I'm going to like hang out with my neighbor kids and not start fights with people. It's like these are not things I've been doing. So I can't I can't claim the same level of virtue. Sorry.

But like yeah, it's like yeah, no I can't focus on my small business that's helping America. There you go. I can't like I can't get into fights on Facebook about my beliefs because I get like anxiety to start or from it. And I can't like.

But I read so much and I can't like vote. My votes don't like votes don't matter because candidates aren't real. So it's like so I'm like, okay, I guess I'll just do what I can sell my stuff and move off the grid. What's that?

What's that story? I'm down. Down to move off the grid. You can find us at two girls talking dot club.

Wait. Jump in moments. Oh. My joke life moment is it takes me three hours to drive here even though it's 40 minutes away.

I have a joke like moment. What is it? Um, I sold all your belongings and got your house. No.

Girl boss. That is. Wrong podcast. No, this is my joke life moment.

I've been saving it for weeks. What is it? Which is the only reason why I'm a Brit. So tantalized.

It's not that good. Don't worry. It's not like some of my others which have gone down in infinmate. Let me remind you Melissa McCarthy.

Clip bait. That was a great one. And I don't know. Two parking tickets at once.

I'm a joke life moment. How are you? I usually use as my trash bags, the plastic bags you get at the register. Right?

Like a target bag or whatever. Which is fine because that way I take the trash out a lot and get stinky and you know, you can't be a garbage person. I'm down. But because I've been working on moving and also since, oh, here's the other thing.

Since I started working from home, I actually have a lot more trash than I did when I was never home. Funny how that works. I'm familiar. And so it was overwhelming.

I felt like I didn't have a trash can. Why was I always have a trash? Like chaos. But since I was playing a moving, I was like, I can't get one of those trash cans.

What am I going to do? What am I going to do? What am I going to do? Which one I started making piles of trash in my house?

Sorry. What's the joke life part in here? Right? The joke life moment is that I bought trash bags at Target.

What a miracle invention. You can fit so much. I'm worried about you. That's my joke life.

Oh my God. And like every time I used one, which was like every day, the piles of trash. Oh yeah, I'm familiar. I have a regular size garbage can.

I don't love it. Yeah. No. Every time.

It's like, wow, look how much stuff I can put in here. Yes. Yeah. I'm going to go to the basement at the modern marvel technology we are privy to.

That's why I saved it for my joke life moment. It's pretty joy. So I don't think I can do anything to beat that. Tell the one about how I bought a brand new dress.

And then I bought a brand new really cute dress and was wearing it out with my dude and went to some delicious dinner of some sort. And took a glass of red wine and basically poured it down the front of the white dress in a way that didn't even make sense as to how one person could feel that much red wine all over their body. And that dress was never the same again. Listener.

I bet not. And John laughed at me as well. One should. He was like, what happened to you?

And you were white dress, obviously. The inevitable after I was washed and I put it on again. I put it on in the back because I was like, oh no, I'll see it if the same's in the back. And he was like, that's pretty amazing.

Wait, I'm sorry. You just switched it around? No, after I'd washed it and it was faded a little bit. I was like, what is the fabric?

But you can just like wear it back. I don't know. I was like, well, maybe it was like a t-shirt dress from Target or something. But it was like close enough.

I was like, it's a really high neckline at the front. But maybe it was. I was like, how this story started with. I bought this new dress and I went out on this hot day and I were like, it was a t-shirt dress from Target.

All right. I'm going to wear it backwards. Yeah. Anyway, I didn't know I was going to be molting to write it here in joke life moments.

Really? I could have guessed, I guess. Let's end this madness. Wrap up this.

Polititorge. You can find us at twogirlstalking.club. It's a website. It's a website for you to go to.

On that website, we have many compelling things. Nope. You can listen to old episodes of this podcast if you have magically just discovered us today. And listen all the way to this point.

That would be a miracle. If that sent us an email with the words green dragon. It's called callback. I love it for you.

I do love it for you. First hit our stride here. Right at the end. Yeah.

So anyway, go on iTunes, review us, rate us, tell all of your friends. Let me see if we've gotten any reviews. Yeah, I bet we've just gotten tons of new reviews in our time on all of our and all of our offices in college lately. Oh my God, there's a hundred reviews here begging us to come back on the air.

Read me one of them. This is the best show of all time. The podcast hosts are so funny and enlightening. I enjoy every minute spent listening to this podcast.

That's a pretty nice review. That's a great review. Yeah, I'm going to write it in a minute here. I mean, it's real.

The related podcast. No, we don't want to plug up people's podcast. I'm just trying to really be up on the genre of two girls talking. Yeah, is it dead silence for a month?

But then a very heavily political rant and then dead silence for a month. Basically, and then technical problems. Call your girlfriend, which is excellent. They did like a very special gun episode.

And then next week they were like tampons. Yeah, that's us. Hopefully, someday. Anyway, someday, give us a call tampon makers.

We'll do a sponsored post for you. Anything else to add? Get me out of this. All right.

Bye. Bye.
