However, when practiced too often or in the wrong spaces, we run the risk of becoming incredibly self critical and paralyzed in perfectionism. Make space to celebrate the small wins. It leaves room for you to let go of control. Erin’s Goldstar Moment [07:22] The retreat was a moment I did not pause to celebrate my win. I had pulled together a retreat of 8 incredible women in a matter of weeks. I left the retreat feeling excited and accomplished, yet I only allowed myself to sit in that feeling for seconds. I stole my moment of joy from myself by letting the thoughts of doubt take over. Will I be able to pull this off again? Did this even really happen? Were all of the ladies just playing nice and lying about the experience they had? Hustle versus Relaxation [11:27] When we make space for the small wins, we open doors for relaxation. Perfectionism and gold star syndrome train our bodies and our minds to believe that we aren’t good enough. That we must keep going because we don't deserve to relax. Be brave enough to breathe in the moment, whatever that moment maybe for you. Otherwise, you miss moments with your children, your family, even moments with yourself that you will never get back. Tangible Tips [15:03] Two tips for making space to celebrate your wins, big and small: Shift your mindset by becoming aware of your thoughts. How are your thoughts influencing your actions? What meaning are you creating about yourself in your head? Mind your logistics. Make a list of all of the tasks you do on a daily basis. At work, at home, with friends, etc. Now consider, do YOU have to be the one doing all of these things? Is there a way to delegate that would make life easier and more enjoyable for you? How can you stay in your zone of genius as much as possible? Closing [22:00] Burnout and overwhelm may be a part of your everyday life, but it doesn't have to be! Here are five action steps that helped me crawl my way out of the weeds of life and into building the life I wanted and knew I deserved.
