When confronted with beautiful language and Old Testament references, it's best to just luxuriate in the prose. Clearly a book for fans of literature and good writing everywhere. It's not often that we find stories that take such magical but unflinching examinations into the lives of famous characters like Lot's wife, fictional footnotes like Ahab's wife and even nobodies like Auggie Vernon.
