August 9th Dear Parents, We’re going to have a great upcoming week. Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements: Please click here to fill out information for fall conferences. After I review this information I will send out conference times. Join the Woodbury PTA! Here is the fundraising information for 6th grade. Reader’s Workshop We will finish up our unit on How to Outgrow Yourself as a Reader. The kids will review their reading log and make plans for growing as a reader. We may start another unit next week. Writer’s Workshop The students will shift to information writing and celebration the publication of their realistic fiction series. Math We will continue learning about surface area in the second half of our current math unit. History The kids will keep working on their Early Humans Flipbook as we learn about early humans, the agricultural revolution, and how humans adapt to their environment. Science The students will work on a project about cells and cell structures. They will review the information about cell structure and take a short quiz on tuesday.
