I mean you have you're like a regular person that does comedy Like me. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, like I cannot be worried about having Having the best episode of a show that I just heard about today No Okay, thank you I will say about Chris my favorite Chris James thing is uh, when I was on his soccer team It was like a very very low level rec soccer team and he would bring uh water to the game, but it was only Fiji water or boss one Yeah, that is his gimmick is like he's a really good bit Even really funny bit because when we did the bar rescue podcast we had Fiji water too, but like you know that that's fine You're in the podcast whatever but like at a rec soccer game. Um, I don't know him, but he just seems like a guy I don't care for well right before we went to air here We found out that there is a connection between you and steffen ember that I feel like we should explore more here Sure, I mean this is something that you have in common with john as well. Which is that you are a high school teacher I'm a high school teacher and I taught at steffen's high school. I teach there currently. He's not my student though He's no he couldn't I graduated in 2007.

I was like well, he's wake up at 9 55 Football is the best one like the football starting at 10 and also the night game ending by like nine He's like out East the night game doesn't like it ends when you're in bed Yeah, I feel like I enjoyed because it's all centralized on Sunday You still get to enjoy all of those early start times Whereas like when I was a kid it was rad that the East games would be on at four o'clock in the afternoon Because you'd come home from school and there'd just be like a whole night of hockey Yeah, like at least two maybe three nights a week whereas like when you work four o'clock start is like whatever Yeah, yeah, I'm sure I'm sure people with jobs They're like oh, yeah, it is really difficult for me. I don't know he didn't play game 6 He was like sporadically in and out of the lineup as the team just was devastated by injuries at that point But he said that he got a lot of emails and text messages from people that he knew and like his lifelong friends all just being like If you could just like find a way to win It would really mean a lot which I love fucking love the idea that like Wanted enough, you know, he's only playing in game 7 of the Stanley Cup final for his hometown team that he's dreamed about it this moment his entire life I should send him an email. Ember you're stressing well you will come to you last you can I'm going to recommend the Olympic trials for curling So like if you are not if you're not a curling fan or you've never watched curling before this week is the Canadian Olympic trials It's nine men's teams and nine women's teams in the winner of the tournament gets to represent Canada at the Olympics And it is the best curling tournament. It's better than the Olympics.
It's harder to win So if you've and the curlers during this event they get so stressed out because it's a three-year qualification process just to get into the trials So then once you get there, it's all riding on one tournament So you can actually see the curlers like panicking more than they ever would even at nationals and world championships Like it's so stressful and it's just incredible curling all the best teams or a lot of the best teams in the world are there So if you've never watched curling before this is the week to do it's called the roar of the rings is the name of the tournament I didn't name it those little blame me for his lame name Yeah, it's called the roar of the rings. So I once went to a Masterclass with Tommy Wiseau. It doesn't seem like he is I mean in some ways because like He wears like four or five belts at once and I think he thinks that's what being cool is It's like you guys were talking earlier about like being a teacher after a certain point you have to stop trying to be cool Or like even if you are cool you have to pretend you're not like I'm sure it's like the same with them or like I legitimately Listen to the same music they listen to but like you don't yeah You can't like talk about it or maybe Tommy was so legitimately does wear five belts at once and that's what he does think cool Right But not I hope that they screen it at the Rio and I'm sure they will because the Rio is like actually important to this movie existing Because I also had a Tommy was so experienced at the Rio which I feel like I may have talked about on the floor I played catch with him with a football during a screening during the Oleo festival a couple years ago Maybe five years ago now, but Seth Rogen said the only way that he even became aware of the film at all Is that the Rio plays it all the time and he saw it there that's sweet so I'm sure that they will eventually There sure I'm very jealous definitely won't see the movie. It's really good.
Let's see it when you can all right number you're up Okay, I'm gonna recommend RuPaul's Drag Race. Nice. I don't know if anyone here has ever seen it. Haven't seen it It's incredible.
It's perfect My friend and I binge watched the eighth season the only one on Netflix and it's just perfect It's like everything you want in a reality TV show and in every episode they've so it's so hard It's like they have to do their own drag and like make their own costumes plus like make a commercial and learn a song and dance And then also when it's the bottom two they have to do a lip sync off. It's non-stop fun I'm curious as to like how the like reality show competition elements play and like how to get eliminated Well, they get judged on it So every week will have like a challenge But then they do like a runway and every your performance and everything is judged by the judges the panel RuPaul and crew And then the bottom two have to do like a right there like boom lip sync to this do some drag. It's so great. Yeah Sounds intense.
It's like you get if you win like I know they do like a tour and stuff I think you got like money and probably a lot of deals right Because I feel like a makeup deal or like, you know, okay You're right it feels kind of like American Idol where like if you kind of make like the top five then you get to go on the tour Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, there's a lot of controversy about the top winners that season. Okay, so they're all doing just fine It's great. It's like the perfect reality TV show So you think you can dance this still around because I saw billboard for the tour covering to the Queen Elizabeth I mean, I watch a couple seasons.
Yeah, it's a good show. But that was like 12 years ago. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know I just I would hope that the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race does get more than like the winner of your average shop $10,000.
Yeah, I have a joke about that I mean, you pretty many haven't seen me do that No, right talk about how like the prize on shop is $10,000 and everybody like straight-faced acts like that's a lot of money And it's like very unsettling because it's not like I would love yeah I would love to have $10,000, but they'll say TV show prize well They'll say on the show they're like what are you gonna do if you win the $10,000? They'll be like open a restaurant I'm like where where you open I'm like that should be the show after chops call it the $10,000 restaurant Well, we bought this mobile home in 100 Mile House and Yeah, you might be able to make a down payment on a trailer to have a food truck Yeah, exactly like it's just it's so I get it like maybe they already have yeah 50 grand saved up or something And that's like what we'll put them over the top is just this like funny thing where they act like would you win this episode?
