'God is dood, en wij hebben hem vermoord', schreef Friedrich Nietzsche zo'n 140 jaar geleden. Woorden die insloegen als een bom. En de gedachte erachter is misschien wel relevanter dan ooit.  Denker des Vaderlands Paul van Tongeren was dertig jaar hoogleraar wijsbegeerte en ethiek en wordt gezien als dé kenner van Nietzsche. Als katholiek filosoof ziet hij ook een belangrijke rol wegglegd voor religie. En vindt de Denker des Vaderlands dat er in Nederland een beetje goed wordt nagedacht? David Boogerd spreekt Paul van Tongeren - en vaste gast theoloog Stefan Paas - over geloof, Nietzsche's dood van God en het wonder van betekenis.
