1221. The Sleep-Alzheimer's Connection

from The Doctor Is In Podcast

When you regularly don't get enough sleep, you're increasing your risk of getting Alzheimer's. That's what researchers out of Edinburgh, Scotland learned after following 8,000 participants for 25 years. They found that those who sleep less than six hours a night had a 30% increase in Alzheimer's by the time they were 70. Dr. Martin shares two new studies about the importance of sleep for overall health, and particularly in relation to Alzheimer's and aging. He shares tips on making sure you're getting between 6 and 8 hours of sleep regularly.
