I had old money in my house. On Thursday I went to the bank. I took the old money with me. I got new money from the bank. In the UK, the notes have been renewed since around 2016. The new money is not paper. They are plastic. The old notes cannot be used in shops and restaurants now, so I asked the bank to exchange them for new ones. There are four types of notes in the UK: £50, £20, £10 and £5 notes.
