#123 Framing Part II with Jesse from Barbosa Carpentry.

from The Construction Life

Jesse Barbosa is back on the show and finally gets to meet Jim, we get talking loads of Framing. Jesse a 25-year-old framer with a solid crew that has old school heart and love for the trades and the construction life. He’s a hard worker that truly cares about his trade and what happens before, during and after his work, regardless if he can only blame the foundation guys for any issues while everyone else blames the framer. Listen in as Jesse shares some great insight on how he started his business, working with homeowners, GC’s, and always on the hunt for more framers to work with. We get talking about winter framing, back framing, steel framing, jobsite appearance, tradesperson appearance and more. We discuss cash jobs, taxes, underground economy, getting rid of the tax on renovations, proper paperwork, running the show and the business and none of us pull punches, our objective is to educate others to build and run a business better and you can only do that by sharing the information. Jesse brings up a great term, Framer of the Future when it comes to understanding building envelope and passive framing. We discuss how the quality of milling lumber comes up and reputable framers are sending a lot more lumber back to suppliers. The conversations get right into the ups and downs of framing, estimating, and so much more. We end the show with a few construction stereotypes, classic ones are expressed. Thank you so much Jesse for being on the show again and continue to build like a Rockstar. Thank you so much Jesse for joining the show and sharing your construction stories and you have a massive career ahead of you.
