Op 9 december 2019 sluiten 16 basisscholen in Amsterdam Nieuw-West hun deuren. Een week lang. De aanleiding: het nijpende lerarentekort. De ambitie: de tijd nemen om met de leraren na te denken over hoe het anders kan. Steeds helderder blijkt de noodzaak om terug te gaan naar de bedoeling van het onderwijs: ieder kind zien als heel mens. Alleen dan kunnen kinderen echt eerlijke kansen krijgen.Ferd van den Eerenbeemt en Joke Middelbeek wijden zich in hun werkzame leven aan eerlijke kansen. Ferd als projectbegeleider van onderwijsprojecten, Joke als bestuurder van stichtingen in het basisonderwijs. Ze schreven een boek over de transitie die nodig is. In deze podcast vertellen ze over het onderwijskundige avontuur achter dit boek.
