Unlike traditional models that assume aging is a constant linear decline, this study identifies two significant biological turning points at approximately 44 and 60 years of age. During these periods, thousands of molecules and microbes undergo dramatic shifts, impacting cardiovascular health, immune function, and metabolism. The findings suggest that the risk for specific age-related conditions, such as type 2 diabetes and kidney disease, accelerates at these distinct milestones. Ultimately, the study provides a systemic map of how biological pathways transform nonlinearly across the human lifespan.
