The levels are fine, just as I always look at, as long as I hit yellow in there, it's fine. Where's yellow? It's a green, like red one. Wait, wait, let me see if I'm red.

Oh, okay, see. Aha, this has got a good rev ratio. I know, I know. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening.

You're listening to the AllTalk Hub podcast, another live drive. We drove an S63 in the last episode, and this time around, we had some Japanese dinner, just to warm up, and we're inside, obviously, a Japanese car, so joining me tonight is Tom again, the Raving Reporter. That's what you say, hello. Hello.

He's looking at the sound level. Yeah, because I'm looking at Elvis's. And we've got the, we're not the chef, I was the chef of last time, but we've got Rick in the back this time again. It's like our second date.

It's the second date, those were following. Tom's their love life. We're in aid, this is my first for me. I'm driving a rotary for the first time.

We're inside a Mazda RX-8. The quirky four-door with the Rolls Royce. Stop back door, the side doors, when they bend out the wrong way. So this is one of Tom's fleet.

Does this look like a lie detector this thingy? Because if you're lying now, it might come up and we'll just spot the different, you shouldn't let me look at it. The reason why, Tom, like, I can't help it, it just looks interesting. It looks like, I don't know if you're long or saying the truth.

In his class, the laptop had its own compartment, where now Tom's seeing up the front, wedged up against the dashboard, and he's got the laptop in front of him, and he's just staring at the noise meters and the decibels readings. I don't want to lie. It's not, I can see that where you're coming from. All right, let's go this way.

Okay. I'll look up on the camera, as I was. Yeah, so it's a typical Mazda from the early 2000s. Not so squeezy.

How do you move that, so obviously? Oh, it's got electric ones, but the front one, you've got to fiddle with it. Yeah, I know. I'll go forward then among, I'll go back.

I'll leave it. Okay, we'll figure it out. So basically, yeah, it's your hello Mazda. I'm not the, we're going to be able to have a Mazda 6 that we had with that red screen in the middle.

There's no, there's no one, now the screens are anything, this is pretty screen, it's like a six-speed manual. It's got your, it's designed for sport, it's got your taco, and the red line at eight and a half thousand, or nine really, the big before is, the red sort of shaded, and then it goes full red at nine thousand. So what does that mean? The red starts?

Yeah, it's eight and a half up here. All right, let's have a go. I'm going to have a trip at the moment. A lights on?

Well, they do rev like easily, like. I just took off, eh? Let me find out. No, it's not, it's class.

No, look, I've never owned a rotary tail now. And like, I've never really driven my paid attention to it. But the revving and driving is completely different. Like I said, it is your car.

I mean, how does it go? No, no, no, no, no. I don't know. Hey, like my thing's always been, if you want more inches, yes, yes, yes.

Stroke it. And I only found out that this is a two lever, I believe. Yes, it is. Yeah, and so I don't know.

I don't know. I'm not one for this. I brought it for my daughter to learn to drive annual and she loves it. I don't know why.

So she's, she's, Teanna's been on the podcast a couple of years. Podcast ago with your play, the big players? I don't know, they all started a while. You've done all right.

You've done all right. So basically, yeah, so it's a rotary. Is it two litres? Yes, because it's going to have to go and get a special license to drive a, so it's not going to come on.

No, this model isn't, I found out. But like a sense, no, we're driving these back to back even though the episode is separate. So they say, no, it is class. We're going the same way.

And I can literally fill the bump on the roads. And I can tell you now, this seat is not trying to keep me in place. And the roof's touching your hair, isn't it? And the chapero is gone.

I'm going to scat off. That was kind of the back. How many buttons are in the back ring? Is that just the four buttons on your shirt?

That's it. That's it. So we're good. Go.

Well, Rick, because it's like, what would you rather prefer me to pick up on a date? In the other hand, big, big, high, high. I think the first guy. Thanks, boy.

OK, so before we get to whether you want me to get the back of the front, we'll leave that till the end. But if you're, and we've got borders here, if the boyfriend turned up in the S63, the pick up you've do it up for a first day, you'd be hoping that he's young enough to go out with that. I'm going to be, you'll be taken out. You're going to be 55 to pick up your daughter at 20, right?

True. But at the same time, if a young bachelor turned up in an RX8 outside your house, the pick up your daughter for the first day, what would you be thinking? Maybe I'll allow you someone to be thinking. Is he going to come and knock at the door?

Or is he just back to the door? He's a gentleman. I'm looking at the car. And I can tell you now, I'd be scared about the S-Class because that's back, so he's fucking messy.

LAUGHTER I'm worried that there's no fucking action at the back of that A-ship, is there anything at the back of it? No. I don't think he's any room. So as a cruiser, we haven't really represented.

It's sitting at 2,000 RPM. The key box is nice and tight, it's very direct. Maz has always, I mean, I'm comparing it to the MX-5 that I've got for my daughter. I think the clutch is better in this before my daughter where to drive.

Yeah, that's OK. I'm not going to use it for my daughter. Yeah, I've got to change it. Maz's qualities are the handling, the key box is second to none.

It's the device with the MX-5 key box. It's obviously not the same key box, but the S-X-B so wherever you put it, it goes in the right gear. I haven't had a chance to drive it angry yet, which is cruising at the moment. You can't feel every bump on the road, but not.

Every bump I've had. Yeah, but it's not. George, it's not breaking your back or anything like that. It's a difference.

The reason you're worrying about the same thing I'm worrying about? I've got a fucking key. I said we're not going that way, but we're going to end up going that way. Can you see what's like first meet?

We've got on the M5 on the other racetrack. I'm familiar about the speed up now, so because this thing would launch off that speed up with the S-Class, I'm sort of... We've got to drive it now, I'm already bored. I'm getting out of that way in front of us, because that'll be our experience.

Anyway, it was a good second day, but we won't end yet. Second day, we're going to break it up already. It's just like a handful, all right. The steering's a bit looser.

It's just a good time to wheels up. I've driven this before. I just feel like this thing is going nowhere, but I'm okay. So you light up, there's one day on what we go.

It just doesn't happen. The river out there. Yeah, it's going good, but it's a right tree, isn't it? I mean, I have to get very sure.

He does. He's a lot of them for the rotaries. Well, let's go on the game, then fly the way for a tune. Okay, well, we should have driven that next week.

So shout out to Rick there, and then we start talking. He's a parking car, he's a racing career. You've really got a really rapid, it's obviously to get anything. I'm sure it's comfortable.

I think we'll end up in a test track in a moment. I've been to hiding a little bit, Rick. That was about to come. Yeah, it's good.

It looks a bit easy to check a UE in this one. Yeah, with no cameras. We're in my head. We'll just touch the park yet.

Yes. I was hoping she wasn't hearing off. Here we go. You went off from the back.

No, no, no, no. I'm not. It's okay. You can tell the chassis is a very loose car.

It's near the bumps. Yeah, yeah. This is a... It's near the rear like what's on the stick.

Yeah, but if you accelerate, you can bring the arse around. So you're right. It's got a bit of understeep, but then when you hit the accelerator, it brings the arse around. That's where we'll drive around.

Rick, how'd you feel that time, guys? I could feel like a smoke smoke. Yeah, but you know, apparently because someone's punched a bit like a bird. I can't, that's what happened.

But you know, something, I felt safer in this. Really? Yeah. Maybe because I'm in the front now.

I don't know. Oh, yeah, okay. No, I don't know. What did I feel like in the back?

Look, it feels quite good. Hey, it doesn't handle too bad. You know what? Hey, you got to remember, all right, the merky would get up and go a lot quicker.

Yeah, that's a turn, please. Sorry, Rick. Now look back on the map. Yeah, I'll back up in there.

Yeah, sorry, Rick, this is a lot. Well, like, you didn't get up the high speeds with the bird. Of course. No, I'm not in the rotary.

No, I'm not in the rotary. Sorry, John, I didn't mean to. Not if you can't. But, um, you really felt like it was...

I don't know, just... It's a different... It's a totally different feeling. It's a lot lighter.

That's why this car felt like it was being thrown around a lot, and you can throw it around. So you can, like I said, understand it to start... I feel like it was going to understand over there. But then when you hit the accelerator, you'd bring it back in a line.

Where the AMG wouldn't let you do that. It was just a heavy bruiser. Yeah, but you know, the AMG, AMG's got stability controls, got all this... Oh, it's a must have been controlled, too.

Yeah, exactly. It's just that the merk was a pointed shoe car, and the engine does a lot of the paint, so you have to really control it. We've all got the ruddles. We've all got the ruddles.

I'll take the 30. Yeah, that's a 50. I'm going to get back through the car. Come on, let's put it in the car.

Yeah, it doesn't have the power to climb the hills like some other vehicles. You know, something... We should have gone on the other track on the... Yes.

You know that? That was a lot of track. No, it was a bit of a straight. It's not forbidden with this one.

I know my way through these little corners, and it's like a little barometer forming. The last time I was going through, he was in a box to race, and that was a different driving car, because that stuck like a tram. Really? It rails through there.

But again, it didn't have the power. You were going fast through the corners, but you didn't have the power of the game doing with this thing. You didn't have the power, so you never felt scared. What have you gone through with them?

Just with the... S? What else? The box, the S?

And... Now the rotary and basically whatever car they're in. Man, the Merc was the best though. Oh yeah, that was a smolie.

Look, this car is a great little car. That could be well. And for one... And they're cheap, but they're a good one.

It's not cheap either. Yeah, that's why you should sell your Mercedes. I'm sorry, guys. You can't get yourself in trouble in this car because you've got a brevitz tensor, and I don't think many people have a set of...

People have it sitting on 6-7, 10,000 RPM driving through there. And you haven't got the speed. The build up will suddenly speed to get yourself in trouble with this car. Imagine how to turn back to this.

Oh, look, you can make this into a weapon. I'm not saying it's a side car, but it's a car that's not fast enough to kill you. It's a nice cruiser. Oh yeah, it's...

I'm quite impressed with it. It's a rotary though. It doesn't have that... You know, that aggro.

It's got that... It's like a... It's like a hornet's there, it's not that point. The...

The exhaust is killing me. But it's... I'm still happy with it. I wouldn't complain if I could afford a real drive like this.

It's still a good car to learn, handling it and driving hard, like a 20-year-old. Yeah, it's just... You're paying... You're getting from what it is.

It's getting old now. It's not... Yeah, but the one up in value, that's the car. They're a rare machine, and you've got to really want...

You think of this now, Baffes, 6-hour... Right. They've been one of these going around that track. Well, they're sure racing, too.

Yeah. Like... I'm gonna ask them next time. What brevitz did they see that?

Well, they got red-residant. I'm sure they'd be no limit as in those cars, but I'm sure they'd be revving them in 19 cars. Yeah, you can't do much. Not too late.

It's a turbo-charging one, hell. No, but they're not loud. In that class, they're not loud. Yeah.

So... They're not loud, sorry. No, no, no. It's a...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

A... A... A... A...

I'm not pay pay legal. I don't get it. But wait. Why does it look like car?

Yeah. The series 2 is early up, but this is being a series 1. And that's when you say it's well, I don't know what it's going to be up to the states, but you're just out of waiting. You know, you say it's well.

It's not a very fast car to, like I said, I don't think it has a Z-NOG to do yourself. You get yourself travelling anywhere. I think you're wrong. But if you lose control of this car, you must be doing something really stupid.

Have all tyres, you know, shake your whole just car drive. It's not one of those cars that flick on you, the real drive-outs. It's a bit understeer, but at the same time, if you know what you're doing, there's not a danger where I don't know what that GDI might find. They used to want to keep going straight.

Yeah. When you're driving in anger, like where this thing, you can really control it. No station I feel like I was not even a trial. It's finished, too.

It's not bad. It's not bad. Well look, what is it? It's 15 years old.

It's 15 years old. Yeah. It's not a say. Like the rattles at 48 years.

It's not. And the roads were going on, I'm not the best. I don't know. Did you put the thumbs up?

Yeah, because it's my car. I know, it's your car. As a person, do you know? Yeah, yeah.

As a puppet, no. To be quite honest, I think the first day was a hell of a lot better. The first day. The first day, the first day.

Yeah. And I need a massage after I get out of this instead of all I'm driving. But look, he's a nice car. He doesn't have enough power for me.

If this is my first rotary, I don't know. I don't know. I don't think you can, there's enough talk in this thing. You've really got to rev it about even then.

Where do you do that on the streets? Something you're not taking home. After you do? I don't know if you're giving any voice on my phone.

I don't know if you're voice on my phone. Okay. Well, let's... Ah!

Rockiera. So basically... Oh, that's not me. Ah, it's not me.

It's not me. It's not you. Ah! Ah!

Ah! So basically, to sum up... Yeah, there's not a power in this thing for me. It's a nice drive.

It's a tasty drive. It's comfortable. But you don't know what you're going to get with this car because it's basically not... The two door full door design about it.

That's the best thing about it. You know, it's got the engine that wants to be revved out. It's... Where the other car told you on the box what I am?

I'm a comfortable car, but you can drive me very, very fast if you want. Now, this thing is more a... I look like a sports car, but... And I handle like one.

It's a ladies car. You know, what's good is it's a good intro sports car for you all. I'll let you decide if you want to be that. Okay, on that note...

Oh, look, I'm giving... I still don't know what to do. I'll give it a... A thumbs up.

But you don't know what you're doing with this car. I give it a thumbs up except for the smoke. The smell. And the rattles.

And the rattles. And you've really got to want one of these cars. You've got to test drive one. And my day's playing hard to get.

Yeah, I know. You won't get nothing. So going back to original question, what... Well, we know the answer, we'll just see in the front of the back.

It's the front seat for this car. Front seat, front seat, definitely. But so now if someone turns up to take your daughter out, you don't see your daughter in the A and G. Yes.

And she'd come back with smokey eyes at this... And it's not because of the good people. It's not because of the point for it. It's because of the exhaust.

Well, there you have it. Something different with the RX 8. You know, it's a car that I've always wanted to drive. I considered by one a long time ago and I was told not to.

Hey, no way. Yeah, no way. But like I said, it's not a car that I would dish away, but it's not personally for me. It's an all-arounder.

It's a good little city car. That's got some sporty things about it. But it's not a bull terror. Thumbs up-ish.

Not definitely not down. Definitely not down. It's not a shut up. Thumbs up.

Thank you for listening. And we'll probably return to normal transmission on the next episode with some guests. So bye for now. Bye.

See you later. What do you reckon? I'm going to slow. I know it's slow.

It's fucking slow. You know what? Hey, for younger people? I'm fresh air.

I'm going to choke that. Okay. It's your night. I'm not going to swipe when I go home.

I'm going to lose it. Ah!
