The Blob seems to be a counterfeit to the Body. The Blob seeks to bring the earth into one mind, one spirit, one purpose—but it does this through military aggression, political subtly, and governmental overthrow. The Body seeks something eerily similar, but goes about doing it in a completely opposite way.
