TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, you're listening to the AllTalk Car podcast, a week of misery for me. We're in the backup car, we're in the post of my pitarones, joining me tonight, is the Alumas stuffer. We're basically, maybe we'll need to do a live drive. We're not going to say what?

Yeah, we'll leave it. The car's healthy, but not for tonight, it just ran out of puff. So we'll save it for the next episode. But if you check Instagram, you will see what it is.

You'll see what it is. Lucky what? Lucky wasn't raining tonight. But mate, so we're back.

The backup car came and got us, so your wife's seat was going to pick us up. And your wife's seat class is, they don't call them to have a taste for nothing. They need to be there for a little bit. Solid State has more standard features than a new Porsche.

And it was built in 2011. Except for the power seats, but that's not going to be on the opposite. But look, that's what it's saying now, it's seats. So, yeah, it's the seat class, so it is a good car.

It's their money maker, it's a good little car platform. And they ate well? They did, they did. They ate well.

They did, they ate well. They ate a bit of them, and then the three series. Or an A4. They bought a copy, I just sort of reduced them.

I just a bit making sort of lah and lah and lah. But now I've had a week of misery mate. So, not counting tonight. The A35 got sick and I've experienced roadside assistance with the Mercedes for the first time.

And I knew the left front tire was going one because my wife drove it like a forward ride, rally cross. You can see where it's been here. But the tire pressures were coming down all week. So, I drove it pretty much all week.

And then she took it. The minute she takes it, she brings me like five minutes later from my three blocks, like my tires flat. And because they're low profile, I'm going to rescue her. Because they're low profile, it doesn't look flat.

You can still do 20k now. I took it to the servo. No, you couldn't see the hole, but you knew that the tire was gone. So, what I do have, I rang the number on the sticker.

That's what it's there for. And they took it to the nearest Mercedes. The last time I knew I was going to get what for the tires. I did driving around on average was about semi bucks more.

But luckily the dealership they took it to, we've got a good friend that works there. So, the car I know got looked after. So, I was quite sort of happy about that. But it was just an all-day all night.

It literally took... The shock I had when I opened the boot and found it, I'm amplified. And it didn't fit. I unplugged the amplifier, I tried to put it on a space saver.

You tried to, I pop up the tires with the bass. Yeah, yeah. And I thought when rectangles don't go around. The only thing that could have made that funnier was if I pop up the jambles playing with the yum radio.

Well, at least the battery was working in that car. But, so it's just like you ring them up, you organise it, the towy comes in there. A nice bloke, it takes the dealership. The dealership looked after the damn yum, I fell like a Ross for the day.

It's just a pain in the arse though. You could just put on the spare tyre and then deal with it in your own time. It literally took four hours on my day. And in a country like Australia, having a 1-800 nut bar.

Okay, maybe the average Mercedes-O nut can't change the tyre. They're too old to change the tyre, I don't know how. I'm going to make a confession now. I had a flat tyre with the one scalper on my booty.

I was going to use that and sit to the white door. You know, I got to work today. I know I'm not a booty from home. So I said, well, I'm calling right.

She goes for one. I'm going to change the tyre. Because I'm going to work. I'm not going to spend any hour checking the car.

I'm changing tyres. I'm going to come over. I'm going to change the tyre. Right.

And then when I get home this afternoon, I will drive it to the tyre shop. I'll get the punch to repair. I'll put the tyre back on. And this is going to spare you.

Right. This is going to space over. So I did that. And I got to the tyre shop and they repaired the tyre.

They repaired the punch up. And they said your car's done. And I went back to the car. And I went back to the tyre and I said, where's the tyre?

We were repaired and I did the boot. Why don't you put my tyre back on the car? I put the space over back here. So they repaired the full size of tyre?

Yeah, they're falling in your boot because of space over the tyre. Yeah. Well, I drive the car here and I say, can you repair that tyre? And you're like, get me going.

But they didn't actually then get me going properly. What do I mean? Just try me on the 1020 bucks or whatever. Just put the car on the wrong way.

Just check it out. Put the tyre back on. Right. Did they do what you got there?

No. Right. I can seriously. Okay.

Do you think I'm ever going back to that place? No. No. I'm not going back there.

You showed zero fucking initiative to create a customer that's going to say, you know what? They did a good job. They did a good job. They went beyond.

They put the tyre back on. Common sense. It's common sense. And you know what?

Next time I need tyre, they might be 20 bucks more expensive or 30 bucks. But you know what? It's close to home. Yeah.

But you know what? Mate, you're not a tree part. Someone come back because you offered me no value add. Yeah.

I was worried that the way the wheels go at the moment. I thought I wouldn't find tyres for this bloody car. So when I said he said that, I mean, stop. I didn't really hesitate.

And when you look at the value add, I didn't pay for the tow. I didn't pay for the load of car. You didn't have to go wait at the tyre shop for two hours? That's what we were saying.

Yeah. If they had the tyre in stock as well, the person I go to normally don't have tyres in stock. So, you know, I've painted a bit extra, but I've got that value added. So, and they can service the car in the coming future on the corporate plane that I bought.

So, there's a bit of a downer when you sneak an amplifier in the space where, but at about the A45, the same level. The point I was getting at help before you said your story is that we're in Australia. We're in a big country. We're not Germany, we're in your five comers away from something.

Yeah. With reception. Yeah. So, I sort of, and I gave machines and feedback and saying that we're Australia.

I know it's a late saving at this and that. At the end of the day, there's a good chance where you will take the Mercury to state. And I've now realised I'm not taking the A35 on a long driving board. We took it out the country a couple of episodes with the weekend driving crew.

We would have heard that episode. If we get a flight out there in the middle of nowhere, we're fucked with no reception. Well, I think they sell you. They can sell you a spare, a temporary.

Like I say, not at the key. It wasn't option. They remember at the end. They just said you'd move.

I'd just like to see it. Yeah. I'm sure it's an option somewhere. Otherwise, you need to get your cans of thing and I don't think you should read it all.

But I think what they do, they look at who's buying these cars. Right. People buying them. A lot of their driving is city driving.

Right. They may do the occasional trip. You know, an hour this way and an hour that way. They're in civilisation.

Yeah. Yeah. So, even if they're in the rural areas, they're not using it to get from, you know, the farm to the city. I think that's where the way it's going.

I drive a check the CLS. I'm wondering how to look at the CLS and see if that thing's got a spare. They said it's got a spare. My genius are the spare was an option.

Really? Yeah, full-size spare was an option. Did you get that option? Yeah.

You ticked the report. I ticked the report. I called that. I think we've said the story where...

Yes. Good old Jimbo. Good listener. Good friend of the show.

One come on. Basically, he bought an M3. Was it the E36? No.

No, no, no. He bought a... That's correct. It doesn't matter what he bought.

No. He bought an M3 and he had... There was just one button missing from the Ralph buttons. And it irked him so much that he bought another one the next year with that button.

You know what that missing button was? A read-blind screen. Yeah, well, then he bought that when the Porsche came and came out. He bought the Cayman.

He ticked every box, right? This thing was like... Synchron at all. This thing was nudging base 911 button there.

Right? Okay. Then he goes and gets Porsche in Sydney. So pretty much throw the GTT suspension at it.

Right? Okay. So this thing's now... Well, like, Camara S.

Derrittory. Right? So Jim could be the original Cayman GT4. Create a Porsche could have gone...

No, I was just like this guy's on a something. Yeah. But that was the last thing he's packed. Yeah, that missing button.

We brought in for a year. No, guys, would you like any options? Yeah, just get a roll or draw line to it. And he was so lucky that he got his money back on the M3 because I was such hard to make.

Yeah. He was a white loser about it. But, yeah, so that was the last thing he's packed. You know, shout out to Jimbo.

I mean, apparently got a new bike. Yes. So that bike goes... It's a drag bike?

They do drag now. The bikes. One of the fastest production bikes on the planet. How fast would they go tomorrow?

9.6, they reckon. No, not with Jimbo. No, no. That was 9.6 with a skinny Italian tester right now.

Oh, right. So basically... I did challenge him to a race and knowing that my car goes 9.85, the bike will do 9.6, you know, Jim's three times the size of the tester rider, right, maybe four. All right, you know.

I don't know. Do they allow bikes versus cars down the track? Yeah, I'll do it. But I can.

There's one of you guys straight. You know, guys straight. Now the tracks. The tracks are pretty good.

Hopefully we go back out tomorrow night and we might do a new P.B. So if we go a bit quicker, it's a little bit of trauma here at the moment. So as a factor, almost since COVID's finished, it's not really in differences. Like are they...

I mean, you're in your own car, it's not like you can keep one and a half minutes. Yeah, well, basically you've got to be checking and you've got to be double lapsed to getting there. Which is... I don't understand why you need to be double lapsed in a capital area.

Sitting in your own car? Well, sitting in your own car or in the crowd. Because you don't need to be double lapsed to get a shopping set. And it's not the van.

It's not the real does drawer crowd. But a lot of this stuff, it's not anti-vaxxer, it's anti-stupid. You don't need to be double lapsed to walk into a major shopping center like Westfield or Central or whatever. You don't need to be double lapsed to go into Woolies or Coles in that center.

But the other retail stores, they want you to be double-vaxxed. So that's all in the food court, you don't have to be double-vaxed. You can take your mask off. You've got to Eastern Creek and they use the line that because of government and facility, you have to be double-vaxed.

But if you went to housing yourself Wales or another gas tank government place, you don't have to be double-vaxed. And they're saying, oh, you're going there because you have to go there and Eastern Creek is a powerful shoot at the caddy. Yeah, I'm sure they don't have to follow. Come on guys, I think there are certain things and certain decisions about lodging, like not putting a spare tire in a car gun or something.

I'll get thrown out of the window. Pretty much. I might save this for another episode, but I don't know if my weeks going to go from bad to worse because I'm driving something tomorrow. I'm driving a Maserati Montreal.

I've always wanted to drive the Italian statesman. I am a limo driver for all waiting tomorrow. So we've got the keeping forward. Well, you know, the way you're sporting that being, right, if you put the clergy with the collar on, I think the priest is driving up to the ground.

I think the priest is driving up to the wedding. You've probably put the collar on, look like someone from the Vatican, driving a... as the only times a four-door Ferrari. I don't think so, Chris.

But anyway, just make sure you're not taking the page, boys, because I was putting them in the car with you. But I don't know if it was... So basically I'm part of fairing the bride to the church, and then I'm escorting them to their photos and then off to their reception. So that's why we'll talk about that on the next podcast.

It should be fun. I don't sort of pick up the Maserati today. It's the piece of a car though. It is.

I mean, I probably drive the... I know they get a bit of shell-lacking in the public, but you know what? It's a monster of a car. It feels smaller for the limited time I had for a...

I'm going to drive it to us tomorrow, just sort of play with it today and get a watch to get the clean for tomorrow. But it does feel like you're in a small car. It doesn't feel like a big car, but the paddleshifts take up. They're in one of the lands, either the EvoX, paddleshifts.

Oh, the big ones? Yeah, these things are made out of car per five. And they take up both sides. It's almost like you've got two steering wheels.

But the noise, it is an amazing car. Pretty comfortable. I didn't really drive it in anger. I just sort of learned it today.

I thought that was so much. Yeah, but I know that the fuel light came on. I was like, OK, thanks, Chris. I'm going to fill it up.

And I got to 135 bucks. And petrol was not that expensive today. So it's a thirsty bugger. But there'll be more on that coming up.

So unfortunately, our live drive is in a seat 250. This is a nice car. It's a nice car. It's a nice car.

This car is so nice that I keep offering to buy my wife a new car and she won't take me up on it. It's hard to get out of these cars. I'm happy to get her another Mercedes. You know what?

I'm happy to get her. I offered her an A-class. We're talking about current A-class and of all things. I offered her the sedan.

I really like the wagon. The all-terrain wagon. There's one for 68. It's 140 you.

Someone took a bath on that two years ago. They've taken the bath and I'm happy to take the rest of the bath. No, it won't go any longer. They fully loaded it.

And it had very low-class, fully loaded, and a roof. I said, you know, the rear barrier. The rear barrier between the boot. Yeah, it's right.

It's like the barrier. I said, the kids piss you off and I'm chucking in the back. They go over and about. Has it got the extra seats in the back?

No. It's purely a 5 seat. Yeah. But you're chucking in the back and just jump over and about to give me a concussion on the way home.

Not like the old 302, do we? We used to sit the jump seats backwards. We used to stare at the back. Yeah, so the kids knew that were about to hit by us.

No, like the all-terrains, they were fully loaded and even had to be 220 diesel. That didn't end up in compared to my seat-allers. Those engines. Thank you.

It's a small, it's not... It wasn't that. I really... I don't really want an SUV.

And I don't want to go for a drive with my mates and stuff. I'll tell you know, some rural areas. I don't really want an SUV. But you know what?

If I don't find the right you in the next six months, depending on what, you know, and the prices, I think, used for you, if I've ever liked. Yeah, for me. Right? I would look at getting something like that as a daily and on the weekends, you know, you can get off the bed and track.

Because, like, the price of yours, the manufacturer's not budging. Basically, you're paying for freight retail. Whatever you get. Whatever you get.

And a used one is like what you would have got a deal on a new one was. There's no such thing as a demo anymore. So, I'm not about to shell out 70 grand for a... For a...

For a mediocre. A mediocre daily. Like... And they charge you full freight for the ranges and they're not.

You can't get off the 10-year-old car. Well, the new... All the ones out in the next couple of months are building a key. There's a few other...

I've been down to the highlights and so on. But at the end of the day, they're still agricultural. The Everock is about the only one. It drives like a car.

And that's all in the range, isn't it? Well, it is. But that's the end of life now as well. Because the new Everock is basically a very bad range now.

They're the cops. They're all vindicated. But that's going to be the thing. And you know what?

I really like driving my Audi. I'm going to be sad to see it going a bit longer than the tooth. Now it's getting a bit more... It's going to start giving me a trouble.

It's going on seven... It's going on seven. It's going on seven. It's going to be out of warranty.

It's done 150,000 kilometres. I knew it'd be actually daily. It's my daily... Every day.

Do I get an E220D all terrain with 40,000 Ks and drive it for another 60 years? Could you do it? It'd be comfortable. Could you do it?

I think you could. I think I could. But... It does depends on what the loot market does in the next six months.

I don't get that over the loot. It's got room in the back. I'm chuck a tow bar on it. You know, right?

Because the U is really a 40,000 car. It's mud and dressed up in the land. That's right. Where that Berkey is 100 plus that's not.

That's right. It's a cruiser at the price of cheaper than the Ranger. So... Oh, it's a tough one.

I've got to see that at day, stay away. You know what? You know what? You know, for the same money, you're just going to get a GL6-259.

If you're lucky. Yeah, now this one. The E class is like a size and a half above. So we've got a few cars coming up as well.

We're coming towards end of the year. We're trying to get our hands on the EY4 that Brad... Brad promised us the car. We just sort of put it out for the door.

He did, but he was drinking at the door. Yeah. And it was us putting the foot in the door. So we're going to try and get the EY4 in the next couple of weeks.

And I've also got a Mazda MX-30 lined up, the EV-21. Yeah, I want to drive that. So we've got that lined up from Mazda. I've got a few cars coming up.

We've got some of the fleet as well. Unfortunately, one of them thought sick tonight. So we'll get that one out. Keep an eye on Instagram.

It's a special. It's a special. Yeah, I love it. It's a special.

And it had... even how it got out of it tonight. Even though you're trying to clots that out. It had that smell as well.

It has that smell for like a sevenated peep-leights. Yeah. But there's another clue. So there you go.

All right. We've got some guests coming up too as well. If you've got some questions, send us an email at alltalkatoutlook.com.au. The guests are about importing cars.

So that's coming up in the next episode I do. We've got some live drives and... We will take the GDSR out for a live drive. And I'm also sneaking overseas for a business trip.

I'm also trying to light up an overseas interview. Ross will get excited. I've got an email back. That's not spoiler.

That's not spoiler. You know what I reckon you should do. Just to prep up for the factory. You should do a live drive with a great taxi driver.

You've got the night speaking. Find one that speaks English. Find one that speaks English. Man, I've probably speak Albanian.

Or Messianian. So follow us on Instagram. Follow us on Instagram. I've got another 3% of our listeners.

Just one more step. I'm Messianian. The point was that we might either. If it was a female, that guy's all that way.

So thank you for listening. Download us wherever you can. Right us. Review us.
