Grieving my dad brought up grief I didn't have the tools to process at the time. My step mom Liz died when I was 19. I could have anticipated that his death would bring it up but I didn't. However, grieving her freshly has been surprisingly pretty sweet and inspired me to take some big action in my life to develop myself into a more loving person--like she was.
