Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the path that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the path that leads to life, and only a few find it. – Jesus of Nazareth Eugene Peterson phrased Jesus’ words this way: “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.” (Matthew 7:13-14 MSG) The Becoming a King Retreat is vigorous and requires total attention. It is not easy or cheap. It doesn’t provide a shortcut or easygoing formula.  It’s an evergreen invitation back onto the narrow path that leads to life.  And it’s working.  Men are being formed and forged.  They're discovering healing and hope.  They’re finding their smiles and their tears again.  And they’re being initiated deeply into the Kingdom of God.  We’re concluding this three-part series with more stories from the frontlines of the Becoming a King Retreat.
