1270-SQLE as a Diagnostic and Prognostic Biomarker for LIHC

This research identifies Squalene epoxidase (SQLE) as a significant diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC). Through extensive bioinformatics across multiple datasets and clinical tissue validation, the study reveals that SQLE is consistently overexpressed in cancerous liver tissues and correlates with advanced disease stages and poor survival rates. Functional experiments demonstrate that inhibiting this enzyme effectively reduces the proliferation and migration of cancer cells, underscoring its oncogenic role. Mechanistically, the findings link elevated SQLE levels to modified lipid metabolism, m6A RNA modification, and a suppressed immune microenvironment characterized by reduced CD8+ T cell infiltration.
