#129 Can you let yourself feel without needing to know why?

from Finding Joy in the Hard · host Suzanne Andora Barron

In today's solo episode, I share how feeling—really allowing myself to lean in and feel uncomfortable feelings—offered me a strength I didn't know I was seeking. That strength gave me the confidence to pursue two activities without knowing how they would turn out. A lot of times, feelings show up and we don't know 'the why' or 'the reason,' yet if we can lean into them any way, there is wisdom to be had. And the crazy thing is whether we feel the feeling or we resist it, we still feel uncomfortable. The difference is if we allow ourselves to lean in and feel, the discomfort may feel sharper in the moment, but moves through us faster. When we resist it, it hangs around and follows us throughout our day. I give an example of the impatience of waiting at the post office. After you listen, I'd love to hear your thoughts, questions or experience.
