Talofa,  Ma’lelei’i, Bula and welcome to Season 4 Episode 43 of Breakfast Bites,  by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on a hazy but  bright Monday morning 13 February 2023, coming to you from paradise on  the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In  Rugby – England beat Italy 14-31 in the Six Nations overnight to give  new Head Coach, Steve Borthwick his first win in the job, but many,  including former England and British & Irish Lions boss man, Sir  Clive Woodward called it boring. Fiji plays England at Twickenham before  Rugby World Cup 2023 later this year. In  rugby league – Papua New Guinea Kumul, Robert Derby and Fijian Wing,  Ilaitia Moceidreke scored two tries each for the Cowboys, but the  Dolphins performed admirably in their first competitive NRL game,  finishing level with the Cowboys at 22-22 in Cairns at the final  whistle. But fans were asking, where is Wayne? In  football – Southampton sacked their Manager Jones after only three  months and 14 games in the role as they slumped to another loss at the  bottom of the English Premier League pile. In  boxing – in an early contender for UFC Fight of the Year, Australia’s  reigning UFC Featherweight King, and a 4/1 underdog, almost caused one  of the greatest upsets in UFC history. Alexander Volkanovski started  slow, rallied, dropped his rival Islam Makachev, survived his chokes and  then stormed home in the fifth – only to lose 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 on  the Judges cards. In  Super Bowl – for the first time ever, Super Bowl LVII will be the first  NFL championship contested in a legal betting state - Arizona and with a  Sportsbook agency just outside State Farm Stadium. Experts expect over  50 million Americans to wager more than US$16Billion on the game. TV  commercials have become one of the most highly anticipated parts of a  Super Bowl broadcast. The first 30-second Ad for Super Bowl I cost  US$42,500, in-game Ads first cracked the US$1Million mark in 1995. Over  the years those TV Ads have spiraled to US$7M for the first Ad in  today’s game. With  young Quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes going head-to-head  and pop superstar Rihanna headlining the halftime show, Fox Sports’  telecast of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs could become  the most watched Super Bowl ever later today.
