Because of the gaps in the data and other challenges in evaluating chemical toxicity, it is essential to understand the scope and limitations of different methods in order to make better decisions about chemical use and truly safer alternatives. To elucidate this process, Pete Myers, PhD; Lauren Heine, PhD; and Scott Auerbach, PhD, discussed some of these methods and their current and potential impact on chemical policy reform and market changes.
