En avril 2019, l’Etat français lance le programme Designer d’Intérêt Général. Durant 6 à 12 mois, 21 designers et designeuses ont intégré une administration publique pour travailler sur l’un des 17 projets sélectionnés. Dans un communiqué, la DINUM - Direction Interministérielle du Numérique - partage l’objectif de ce programme : “Améliorer les services publics numériques en diffusant les nouvelles pratiques du design UX dans l’administration”. Pour comprendre cette initiative nous avons donné la parole à plusieurs invité•es : Christine Balian est co-créatrice d’Entrepreneurs d’Intérêt Général et de Designers d’intérêt Général ;  Cécile Canel, designeuse pour le projet Maritux, porté par le SHOM - le Service hydrographique et océanographique de la Marine ; Sarah Lepreux et Charlotte Bourcier, toutes les deux designeuses pour la mission Alphabet, porté par l’Education Nationale ; Maxime Beaugrand, designer pour le projet FranceConnect, porté par la DINUM.
