This week on LEISURE LINK with Peter Greco: Belle Owen, Strategy Leader at Purpleorange, responded to the South Australian state budget and lack of funding for independent advocacy. Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Human Services in South Australia, spoke about the state budget; homelessness and Street Connect; and "answered" Belle's question about funding independent advocacy. Joe Alfonso, Growth Manager for We Walk, invited all to check out their orientation & mobility cane, apps, at Tech Fest – 17th June at U City, 43 Franklin Street Adelaide Chelsea Marchetti, putting "fiz" in to physiotherapy from the Flipper academy, shared  information on the role of a physiotherapist for chest + respiratory challenges. Associate Professor Sina Vatandoust, Director at Southern Oncology Clinical Research Unit and a Medical Oncologist at Southern Oncology SA, spoke about Early-onset gastro-intestinal cancer rates surging among young Australians and called for urgent action. Emma Read, Residential Funding and Accommodation Managerat Resthaven, had news on accessing services; and answers often asked questions when seeking aged care services. Lisa-Maree Walker, paid a moving tributey to the Late Elise Londsdale, advocate; technologist and educator. Elise sadly passed away last week. Lara Chambers, Regional Manager for Fortem Australia, thanked First Responders - highlighted their lasting mental health toll.
