Sinterklaas is een traditioneel Hollands familiefeest. Als kind vond ik het altijd geweldig en heel erg spannend allemaal! We gingen altijd kijken als Sinterklaas met de boot aankwam en ’s avonds mocht ik dan m’n schoen zetten. Ik maakte een mooie tekening voor Sinterklaas, deed die in de schoen, een wortel en wat hooi erbij voor zijn paard, en dan zong ik heel hard een paar liedjes door de schoorsteen. En dan maar hopen dat Sinterklaas het zou horen en één van zijn Pieten een kadootje in mijn schoen zou doen.
