So often we have missed the very clear or obvious. Once, in the midst of a teaching session, God spoke directly from heaven; responding to a brief moment of prayer from Jesus. Most of the people who were assembled with Jesus, missed it. They dismissed it as the distant rumbling of thunder or the musings of an angelic being. Often we hear only what we want. The art of accurate hearing/listening must be carefully cultivated lest we miss the quiet and often subtle voice of God speaking to us in His word and through the circumstances and lives of those who rub shoulders with us each day.
