13 Staying Clean in a Dirty World, Gen 6:1-13

Moses paints a terrible picture of the days of Noah. He says that every intent of the thoughts of people's hearts were only evil continualy. Every kind of sin was rampant and there was demonic activity taking place at a level beyond our comprehension. So, when we're introduced to Noah, the contrast is stark. In the midst of this dirty world, there is a man who has stayed clean. If we've ever felt like we're the only ones serving God in our family or workplace or school or neighborhood, we might have a taste of what Noah must have experienced. He and his family truly were the last people on earth who believed in God. So the question we're forced to ask is: how did he do it? How did he overcome the temptations and persecutions he must have endured? And overcome he certainly did. He wasn't just the best of a bad lot; he was one of the most righteous men of history (Eze 14:14,20). Many of us know what it is to live in a society that's hostile to everything that's godly.
