#130 Post Mortem

from Useless Assumptions

We kick things off with the death of two time NASCAR champion Kyle Busch who passed away at just 41 years old from pneumonia. A sports medicine expert is calling it totally preventable and we get into what that actually means and why it matters. From there we jump into the NBA playoffs. The New York Knicks are going to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and Jalen Brunson has been absolutely unreal. We talk about what this means for New York and what happened to Donovan Mitchell and the Cavs. The Thunder and Spurs Western Conference Finals is also coming down to the wire with Wembanyama and SGA going at it and we give our thoughts on where that series is headed.Nebraska had a massive week in college sports. The baseball team is hosting an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2008 and tickets sold out in 10 minutes flat. The softball team is at the Women's College World Series with national Player of the Year Jordy Frahm leading the way. We are proud of our Huskers and we talk about it.On the local side Rep Mike Flood held a town hall right here in Norfolk and the Tour Nebraska car show is rolling through this Saturday with 456 classic vehicles registered. We also get into the Underdog Sports vs SGA situation where Underdog got a cease and desist and basically told SGA's lawyers to kick rocks. In national news a gunman opened fire at a Secret Service checkpoint outside the White House in what was the third security incident near President Trump in a single month. We lay out exactly what happened and who the suspect was.We also dig into the DNC post mortem report where the Democratic Party basically did a full autopsy on what went wrong in 2024. The male voter numbers are brutal, the Latino voter shift is real.Plus Tim Walz skipped the Fort Snelling Memorial Day ceremony and we have thoughts on that.We close it out with a game and as always we want to hear your own Useless Assumptions in the comments. Like and subscribe and we will see you next week.
