The assumption that we can trust something as vast and complicated as the government as a whole is itself a head-scratcher. At the same time, from time to time, and for some, with increasing rapidity, we are seeing a breakdown of trust between the citizens and their government. To end there, however, is to be consumed by cynicism. Even when we are betrayed by one person, does it justify that we throw out all trust for all mankind?And this applies to worldviews and beliefs as well.
