131 - James Bottomley

For the 105th Second-Hand Book Factory, Charles Adrian is joined in Peckham Rye by consultant and project manager James Bottomley. They talk about some classic, visceral, virtuosic poetry, some classic British comic writing and some terrifyingly topical American counterfactual writing. James is Vera Chok's flatmate. Vera has been interviewed repeatedly on the podcast. Episode image is a detail from the cover of The Plot Against America by Philip Roth, published by Vintage in 2005; book design by Robert Oberholzer.
