Good morning, afternoon, and evening, Right before I stepped into my studio today, I saw a beautiful katydid on the wall (photo above, wish I had a better camera :) I read that the rhythmic "katy-did, katy-didn't" call of the male is a summer night soundtrack, made by rubbing their wings together. This process is called stridulation. I immediately looked up what they sounded like on the internet. How fascinating are their songs! I had to make my version of their calls.
