You are now listening to the UK and the world's favourite wrestling podcast, Archie M wrestling with your host Andy and Emma. Right. It's an hour. That's a good impression.
Hi, how are you? I'm alright. It's me last day off, which is straight in. So we're going to try and give this as light hearted as possible.
Otherwise I may, you may hear me jumping out of the window. Episode 132, welcome everyone back to RCM Wrestling. This is basically the second half of Wednesday morning show. What we're thinking doing night spots on the week?
It is actually. Sleepwise. I've been going to bed at night now. Yeah, well, technically I'll start work at half eight, so I might just get tired after half and I'm good.
I'm actually good. I'm going to do a fake cheers because you've got cancer. I'm going to cheers against my daughter. Cheers everyone.
Cheers again as well. Cheers. Cheers. I'm not so excited.
Yeah, I was a bit wont' it. Maybe I should have some rum. I'll have some after I get some food. I hope you're all alright.
I hope you're all staying safe. Wow. What a week. Just as a side note, I don't recommend watching Home Alone 2 while you smashed like I did last night.
I think it was the two AMP so we all did that not too over the edge. It just the film just didn't hit the same. Was feeling like a what it's dad. You're why I didn't hit the same for me.
It wasn't great was it? It was to be shit actually. I thought they were clutching just a little bit. Yeah, they were.
It didn't make any sense. I remember loving that as a kid and thinking it was a miles better than the first one. Miles better. And I said to you before and I was like oh got to watch Home Alone 2 because it's the second time.
What the fuck is shit? Well because that was the choice. It was the start of Christmas films and Home Alone 2 was the first choice. Yeah.
Yeah, it was alright. It was a bit ridiculous. It was really shit. I'm calling it really act at all.
Could he? Well he said that I thought he was the best in it. Did you realise? Yeah, I thought God the standard between him and everybody else in that film is quite shocking because he's about five years old.
The wet slash sticky bandit's gonna act so fun. I mean Pashy didn't really do much. It screamed contractual obligation. I don't know.
It was pretty poor actually. It makes me worry about Richie Rich. I'll heaven forbid. I won't revisit that.
I'll just leave that in there. It doesn't even have McDonald's in his. Yeah, it's the best part. It's the only bit I remember to be quite honest.
Right, I still don't remember as well. He's just playing a rich brat. It's like well that was pretty much him wasn't it. No friends yeah.
It's just like Michael Jackson was just lurking in the background with fucking bubbles or some shit. With a mark like cleaning the McDonald's up. It can't be as bad as I do some research before that we make it onto later. Jingle all the way to.
Sam Tino, what's his face? The WWE production. What? Jingle all the way to.
So that's in Santino Morella. He's not the main guy in it. Larry the Cable Guy is playing the Arnold Schwarzenegger role. Like what?
I don't know. Oh right. Well, what are you guys? I can tell you guys.
I can tell you guys why you're going with that. God, he's been it. It's been a hard way. Can I?
Wrestling wise. I don't know whether or not I feel like after that dynamite. I've completed wrestling. No.
Tell me. It's not the best. Well, it's not the best. I think that's a bit strong.
It felt really good after that though. Yeah, me too. And I think the good thing about doing it straight away is you've got our real Vigivis role reactions to it. Most of the time when we do a review show or anything like that, because it's on so late, we have to do it 24 hours later.
And the 24 hour test, nine times out of 10 when it comes to wrestling doesn't hold up. That's true. So it does hold up though. So I've watched the main sort of two bits a few more times.
I mean, I'm genuinely shocking. If I'd have seen, if I'd have, you know, like you've been saying at the time, if we'd have gone to bed and done it the next day and seen all the bleacher reports and all the tweets that have come into us and all that sort of stuff, it would have been ruined for us. So I like the fact that we stayed up and watched it. It's going to annoy me to the point where we're not going to be able to do that going forward.
But you know, it's one of them. Like if I can stay away from it, I mean, I can't see getting any, well, yeah, maybe because Kenny's on it. I can't see getting any like notifications about impacts on Tuesday. Can I just turn off the each report and we just divide Twitter?
I think you should. Yeah. And just like on the day of shows, just stay off it. Yeah.
Just so we can get, because that's the one thing like I've really been missing about wrestling is that surprise factor. Like, you know, as everybody listens to this, knows like watching the attitude here. Like one of those mad surprises every week, like Austin coming in and a fucking truck or, you know, there was literally something every week that was like, Oh, my God, look at that. Which is why so many people watched it.
But yeah, like coming at it for a few days kind of removed. What's your feeling now? Still, I do still feel the same about it. But like personally, I think it's been, and obviously it was very much, it was like, talk to to death about online, you know, on Twitter to the point where, you know, I think the thing, having taken a few days away from it, it's really sinking in how old Sting is now.
So whereas it was kind of just really exciting and it looks great and stuff. And I'm like, what are they going to do with him at 61? Like really? Like, is he going to wrestle?
Is he just going to be a mouthpiece? You know, is he going to lead a faction maybe another one? You know, it's, and that was when I was like, Oh, I don't actually know whether or not it's going to be what I thought it might be. But I still think it's going to be really exciting.
I still think it's such a cool to have him just for the brand, the Sting brand is strong enough to me. Well, I mean, one of the, one of the points that I've noted down there is Sting's first AW t-shirt sale sets new pro wrestling tees record for amount of t-shirts sold in 24 hours. And it set it like hour 16. Well, the interesting thing with the sort of t-shirts, the t-shirts itself has got you on like the baseball bat, the space, but it has to wear justice underneath it.
So the way I feel they're going to go, because it's weird because they've said a few different things we stink, where he's going to be on a talent for most weeks. So he's going to be on the show most weeks. So when you think of that instantly, you think, well, is he going to get in like mad, you know, sick? Because they've already kind of set, I mean, I know he was kind of glaring at everyone, but they've kind of set up like a bit of a six man tag with him, Dabi and Cody against teams has potentially.
But I think the justice, like part of the t-shirt, what makes the most sense is when something is particularly, you know, he's a bit like an enforcer. So when something's happening that's like on the hand did or anything like that, the lights will go out, stingle appear, any old clear the ring type thing, which will get old quick if that's all he's doing. But you know what they're doing. He wouldn't have, I don't think he would have signed on to do something.
If it was just going to be like, you know, you try him out a couple of times a year. I mean, that in itself is fine. I mean, it works for a lot of the stars really. Yeah.
That kind of part time element does work and it does help kind of keep the mystique. And I think we've characterized sting. Sometimes I think that maybe less is more within before it does get old and it does kind of lose all its impact when it comes out. Yeah.
For one of the better word. Yes, absolutely. But yeah, it's a weird one because nobody wants to see a 61 year old get hurt. No way.
However. Well, we want to see him wrestle really. Well, yeah. I mean, if he's fine and he's okay to go, I wouldn't, you know, if he obviously the decisions with him really, because he would have him wrestling if he was able to, you know, the whole matter of the stuff from, you know, a few months ago was difficult to watch in itself.
So he's not, he's not kind of a lather anytime soon. But I think for me, I think like a backstage kind of cultural, like Joey Lind's got and I like kind of stuff. And then him come out and be like the enforcer, like if like the sheriff or whatever they want to call it. So when something's going down that he's not happy with, he'll come in and kind of take over type thing.
I think that's the best thing for him. I think it'll become quite a lot more clear. He's on the mic. Yeah.
So it's not just him talking, he's actually getting interviewed by Shivani. Okay. Which I thought he was just him talking on the mic. But it's like, I think it's an in ring thing.
So yeah, so we'll know the direction after that. Absolutely. And we'll know why it is. So I was having a bit more looking to the old potential AW impact crossover stuff.
Yeah. Because this was quite exciting. I think to start with, but the excitement for me is kind of dampened a little bit now because it doesn't seem to be a long running thing. I mean, if you, it depends on whether you believe Meltzer or not, you know, he's the only one who.
Wasn't stopped. Right. Well, that was about to say like a, no, I can't say like this too. But yeah, I mean, it sort of kind of said that Omega be on impact is like a favor.
So this is like the quote from, I think it's a different actually. I don't think it is actually Meltzer. Somebody getting an exclusive backstage news on plans for the crossover. So they said, Omega be on impact is like a favor to Don Callis, who's a good friend of him.
He's obviously the guy who ran off with him at the end on Wednesday. Can like the idea to sign off on it and I'm going to impact. But the way, the reason why he signed off on it is because they're going to get gallows and Anderson for a match as well. Just all, just all, yeah, me too.
Just like one match. So Omega be on impact on Tuesday. They think he's most likely it's going to set up them going over to AW just for a match. I just to jump in, I actually think I prefer the fact that it's a bit of a one off thing.
I do because it really that to me demonstrates like a bit more of an innocence about it and that some deal hasn't been struck and someone's been bought out. Well, yeah, because that was kind of like the point of, I think, because I watched that. My brain is all over the place. Oh, my mind too.
So Kyle, apologies. I'm actually fucking scrabbling for airy. Yes, Kyle Masters, you mentioned quite a bit. It's that real Kyle Masters on host podcast at all the lead pod with his co-host Tiffany.
And they were kind of talking about impact and they kind of approached it in a way where it was a really mad rumor. Like one of those ratcheetite, oh, is this what's happening? Because AW has been talking for ages about getting a second show. So Kyle said, what if impact becomes AW's second show?
So I was like, oh, and the instant reactions that I totally shit, that's another big headline. That's another big thing. But then when you start thinking about it, it's like, well, we were going on on Wednesday or Thursday morning about that's what the AW do. So they can't be immune from that criticism if that's what any of happening.
So if they just steamroll into impact, because, you know, impact's not doing great. It's not doing bubbly. Well, I've kept the whole comic insane it since we started this podcast. Oh, how long has impact got left?
And they're still going and they're still like, they've got the money to get gallows and undersons for God's sake. They're in that much shit. They couldn't sign those two. Those two would go anywhere else.
I don't know how long their contract is. I don't know if that's ever been publicized. It might not be very long. I don't know.
It might want to go into Japan. It might just be a bit of a COVID thing because they're stuck in the States. Yeah. It's still a coup.
And it's still there is, you know, obviously, you know, Chrissie listens to the pop cattle opposite. And they sound like they're doing really inventive things and different things. So I know that the viewership is low. But is that because of the channel?
They're on, though. Because they're on some mad, like, access TV or something. I think they said, didn't they? I mean, it's tough to kind of talk about impact without watching it for a while.
So maybe picking Chrissie's brain about it might be the way forward. But yeah, that sort of my final kind of thought on that bit is I don't want him to do that. I don't want impact to become AW second show because that is basically what the AW does. They do something to start with that might seem cool.
And then they completely take it over and it just becomes another part of their cog, their machinery. I think talent sharing, though, is a really great way. It's a bit like, and I'm sure we've said it before, I had to teach everyone on the podcast. Like, sending footwalls out on loans or the clubs so they get used.
Yeah. I do think that, you know, if everybody's got, if everyone trusts each other, as in the company heads, I'll trust each other. But there isn't some under-hand tactics. No one's in there to fucking spy on them.
There's no none of this. Oh, we're going to destroy them, take all the talent and just crucify them. If there's trust there, I just think that it's, you know, you then get to the point where AW may not need that second show. That's a very risky move.
I still think personally, it's not in a second show. It's like it takes away that need to have the second show right this moment because it's still fucking tricky because they still haven't, they've only going like just over a year. COVID has been most of that year. Yeah, yeah.
So I still, I think we need to have like a year, a full year of just dynamite and dark when the crowds are back and they can decide then how big the live show is going to be. I'm much more than making from that. How popular it's getting. Because I don't think it's any indication at the moment.
So open up a brand new show is like it couldn't ruin them. Not properly ruined, but it could fail and they have to take it off and that would be worse. It would be, yeah. So, so, I mean, TNC are apparently very, very serious when it comes to them having a second show.
Yeah. Well, they are at the mercy of TNC a little bit with scheduling because the whole 23rd of December is when the NBA returns. CNC was apparently going to have, which is a Wednesday night, the 23rd. So, TNC were apparently going to have a half, seven game and a half, ten game.
Yeah, I read this. I think it was a bit up in the air about dynamite. Yeah, but now the half, ten game has gone to ESPN. Okay.
So they've technically got that slot if, but, but then beyond much later than they would normally be on. So that's the thing we've seen is quite, it's, it's, it's, it's fluid. And I don't necessarily think that that's a bad thing. That, that it's a fluid thing.
You know, sometimes it's on a Saturday, sometimes it's on a Thursday. You know, as long as it's on one's a week, it doesn't really matter. And if you do me in a show like on a Saturday night, that's when you put, that's when you put a really tight show on. Just to make, to get to kind of take advantage of the fact that it's not running against NXT and just see what, see what's going on there.
I mean, the, the viewing figures were like, I think nine hundred and ten thousand to sixty, something thousand, or six hundred and something thousand. So, this Wednesday night war thing we need to just stop talking about. And I was getting a bit stupid because I make the cute leapfrogging each other. And of course, the sting one was going to get like loads of people switching out.
It's not even that though. It's not even the cute leapfrogging each other. NXT has won the odd one, but they're usually like miles behind. Yeah, there's, there's still not a lot in it.
No, no, there's still, there's still, I mean, percentage wise, there is. But people wise, there isn't, there's like two or three hundred thousand most weeks. So, I mean, up in this day and age might be like years away from each other. And we all know how they work that out as well.
And it's not even like a, it's not an exact science, not any stretchy imagination. You know what, it's unlike ITV. Yeah, on Friday. So, oh, it's not alive.
No, it's not a Friday night. I think. So, it's not the last time I knew it was on Friday night in, like quite late. Or, I don't know, actually.
I don't know, like, you know, because it's doing quite well over here in terms of viewership. I've been just intrigued as to what time it, it's on for the first time, whether it's on live and then it's repeated or it's, I don't know. So, you can watch it apparently on the ITV hub. Which would be much of a celebrity getting out of here on because, hey, it's COVID year and it's looking to do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, what 11 o'clock, what past 11? Okay, so it's on late. But that is a repeat, but it's the first time it's on, you know, okay.
So, the fact that it's on two days later and isn't live is quite, I think, quite a big thing to do, you know, doing so well. But yeah, it's one of them where I kind of, I thought it was portrayed for a big time. It's like, oh, that sucks. Sorry, just thinking about ITV now, for some reason.
But the whole, so back to like the whole sort of crossover. So, it seems like it's a short-term thing. But they can still, they can still come together for a big pay-per-view and cross-promoting. It's in a stadium and New Japan's in it, ROH's in it, AAA's in it, who cares?
Just get a couple, you know, you use like five promotions, but take like, you know, you top, whatever, if you were going to do your own pay-per-view, take your main event and your co-main event from every show. And put it on this and then have a big cross-over battle royal. It would be amazing. I just think it would.
Like I say, if everybody trusts each other and there's a knowing shared kind of knowledge, you know what I mean? Like they've got the shared understanding of how it's going to run and it is just one of things. And they're doing it to use people if they've not got the time on their show. And it's to also promote each other's promotions equally.
Because they've all got, you know, like all the promotions have got people on that would, would people would tune in. So, like, I just think about AEW. I'd love to see Galazan on that. I mean, I can't really talk for any other promotions, don't know who's on there.
But, you know, look at Thunderoza, like, she's ended up jumping ships, so, you know, the talent poaching. Yeah, yeah. But there's even with that, like, she's still, I don't think it's, she's 100% signed to AEW yet. Like, I've not seen a tweet that's like Thunderoza is all that kind of thing.
That's what I was going to say. So, what they need to, you know, this is all great. But what they need to stop doing is, is the whole Wednesday night war thing that they're commentating on. So, Tony Khan was the one that first tweeted out the viewing figures and had their next season as well.
And, and it was, NXT's was particularly bad, like, in 80 third in the demo or something like that. But I think now, because of how well I think it's going, and it can only go up to me. Like, I don't think AEW is going to go backwards. They'll either stay where it is or it'll go up.
But I don't, I don't need Tony Khan tweeting about the viewing figures. I don't need Jericho keep ramming down me throat that it's the only, it's the only kind of part of it. That's annoying me a little bit from non content, you know, you can talk about content from the end of time. But, you know, the outside stuff of like Jericho coming about the demo all the time and now Tony Khan's like putting NXT in a tweet.
Like, just stop talking about him. Like, NXT, in my opinion at the moment, it's lost. Like, they've literally lost like out of 50 weeks or something. They've lost like 43.
It's over. There's no war. It's not a war. NXT might think it is.
You know, USA Network might think it is, but it ends. It's over. It's done. It's completely, you know, when you're getting sting turning up on a show and you've got all these major stars.
It doesn't matter how close the viewing figures are. You know, NXT hasn't got that pull at all. Like, not even remotely. You know, they're going for people like Pat McVee, which arguably is doing a really good job.
But, you know, they've not got apart from Adam Cole. They've not really, you know, Galagano champer. That's kind of the machines come off that a bit. You know, they've missed that opportunity to go up to the main roster and then get your career folks.
Whereas now it's a bit like, well, not really bothered about them too, which is insane thing to think. But so... I agree with you. I do think that...
I think it's really doing them a disservice, keep comparing themselves to not only a show that they tend to beat, but it's still the developmental show of WWE. And I think they're better than that now. And obviously they're not doing the figures of Raw and SmackDown, but it doesn't matter because it's a totally different show to WWE. Anything WWE puts out, I think it's very different in terms of pacing, the style, the different, you know, like, types of wrestling that they put the spotlight on.
You know, tag teams, for example, you know, WWE are still going down the route of, you know, trying to become known as very sort of woke with women's wrestling. Whereas it's not a concern, it's not a priority for AEW, you know, doing a bit more. But it's like they're doing two different things, so it's like this constant comparison is doing them a disservice. It's like, well, you're comparing, you're just being deaf now, you're like, Capri, sweet, if Capri's started tweeting that they were out selling echols cake, you know what I mean?
And it's like, well, of course you are, but you do two completely different things, it's a bit stupid now. Yeah, and that's what I think is. I think, you know, leave it to people like Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, you know, let them tweet out, let them talk about it. Yeah, and if WWE had started it, I'd understand, and if WWE perpetuated it, or were constantly inadvertently patting, aggressively trying to put them down, then I'd understand it, well, you just make sure you're deaf when you're the one mentioning them, and they're not mentioning you.
That's just, that's just, starts looking a bit tragic then. And it gives a lot of fuel to people who want to slide off AEW firms. Absolutely. And I agree with them, I agree with them.
It's like, if WWE was doing it, we would be like, what the fuck? Especially when the winning, like, AEW or winning, there's no, there's no argument of what, there isn't really an argument of what's about a show, like I'm sorry, but this is coming from like a pure NXT guy for years. And there's no competition whatsoever. In any of the shows, don't get how many of you is rolling smack down, get, we started trying to watch SmackDown, you went to bed, and I turned it off.
I was not good at it. Yeah, it wasn't. I do really enjoy the Roman Reigns stuff, but as soon as that's finished, which was at the start of the show, I'm sure I think it was probably more at the end. Yeah, and what happened at the end was really good.
Did he go mental with a chair or something? Yeah, so we beat the shit out of Owens, and then Reigns beat the shit out of it, Jey, so it was out. Well, that was great, but I knew there was so many in-between stuff that I was just like, I can't, and I know that I keep saying it, and I sound like really bitter against it. I can't watch Bayley as soon as she appears on the screen.
And what, someone made a really good point, because obviously I'm not following it, but I've got a rough understanding of what's going on at the looking Bayley, and it's dead bizarre because someone made this really amazing point. It's like Bayley's lost a last nine matches in a row or something like that. Right. Clean, lost him.
And they're building up her rival role with an undefeated Bianca Belair. Now, what does that, what the outcome of that match? If Bayley wins, then Bianca Belair is lost against a person who's lost nine, even though she's undefeated. It's Bianca wins, then she's only, she's just the last next person to beat Bayley, so what was it gonna happen on?
This is the problem with WWE is when they don't have a fucking idea of what this is supposed to be doing. But the week, no one's gonna win out of that, as in, there's no actual winner of that outcome of that match. No. Why would you do that?
Someone who calls herself on defeat, she has been defeated clean nine times or whatever, and then someone who's actually undefeated, there's no good scenario that can come over with the winner of that match. And then, one person's been a lot fucking stupid. Yeah, and then look at what the bucket is for the title holder, so this is what made me turn it off. I didn't even watch it, because I'm just not interested.
They got, so like, it literally came up, after the break, it's a sit-down conversation between the SmackDown Women's Champion, Sasha Banks and Carmella. So you've got, so why didn't you even know about the Bianca Belair thing, because obviously we've not been watching it. So you've got Bianca Belair, who's an undefeated wrestler currently, and she's potentially going against Bayley, who's lost the last nine, and you've got a rivalry between Carmella and Sasha Banks for the title. It's so clueless out there, isn't it?
It's just completely mental. I'm not just saying this because I'm not on board with WWE. That to me is like, booking 101, I genuinely don't know. I'm not on the defeated wrestler, it goes to the title.
Because all that, I know where they're going with it, but going with the big Bayley Sasha match up. I don't know how they're going to get there, but they've got some sort of weird thing. They've done it though, they've done it about 15 times. I think they're going to do it from Mania.
Yeah, but they've done it though. They've done it so many times. Bayley didn't drop the belt to her. Like, it's the whole fucking situation with when there was that Raw where Sasha and Charlotte were passing a belt back to each other every week.
No, and it was like nine-time champions. Oh, yeah, just, well that's the whole reason why they've done it. So they can say they're a fucking ridiculous amount of time champion. Obviously, they're not obsessed with the number nine, by the way.
I just keep saying everything's nine, I'm just guessing. Yeah, put one in front of it and you've got a dragon. But, you know, so it comes up and like Carmella looks like a fucking blow-up doll now. She literally, what's happened to that face?
I've no idea. Bloody amount of shit that's been injected into it. Sasha's sat there with loads of fucking day monies on or whatever. And it's just like, I'm gone.
This is your champion. Why isn't she, you know, like now, like, why isn't she facing Berncabella? If she's undefeated. Oh no, it's fucking crazy.
It just doesn't make any sense. It just hurts everyone. There's just no effort putting to it whatsoever. And I'm not saying that you don't use that much better with women, but they are doing small little things that are starting to impress me.
At least it makes sense. Yeah, you can see a path when everything's clearly mapped out. I think you know what they're doing. And I think the only time when things change is when you get like a surprise like Thunder Rosa where you're like, she was very impressive and obviously signed her.
I'm not sure that was potentially the concrete plan. It was just a case of bullshit. That was great. Well, it might be a similar thing to Eddie Kingston where he's coming in to do the one shot and then he's now kind of got a really good spot on the show all the time.
You've got Thunder Rosa coming through the crowd and starting fighting with Britt Baker. And then on the side story to that, he's the women's champion sort of Sashida and Abaddon. And Sashida being scared of her. And Abaddon's being undefeated.
So that makes sense. I know he doesn't have to make sense. And it's kind of the wrestling room 101 thing that I was going to put in that I decided not to. I just thought he was way too negative for us on the night.
Was just like illogical wrestling funds. Because the amount of times I've gone Twitter and like somebody's tagged us into something or it's been retweeted and we've seen on the timeline where it's just complete nonsensical anger. Like I'm not going to obviously name him because he's not fair. But somebody going off the Red because he's a like a director of the company.
And it's like right. So you've got like one of arguably one of the best wrestling shows of the year as far as TV goes. You know, what's tape, paper views out because you probably argue someone that might have been better. People still find something to fucking go out.
So I don't want to sound like obviously Roman Reigns is doing good stuff. The Owens Pro will last off in the week before that. The replay was great. And Owens is great.
And Christ alive. You can't please everyone. It's kind of what I think on the. That's what we said.
You literally can't. And while Twitter's there, I mean, Twitter's really in the ground scheme of wrestling is fairly new. So we're having a moment of everybody just dog piling and finding fault with absolutely everything. You know, I'm saying with podcasts and saying what we're doing.
It's a moment in time that I think will pass. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but it will pass eventually. Yeah, I mean, when you can when you're the good thing about free speech, you can say whatever you want. But then the problem with that is is is the whole sort of interpretation of it.
So people actually do what people actually think this way or are they just fucking mental. I think people like to just troll as well. We saw that from the PlayStation 5 stuff. Yeah.
Yeah. What trolls a lot of people were. Yeah. I've got 10 to sell for the kids.
You know, and all that shit. Which I thought was hilarious because because yeah, you know, if you want to buy something, you should be. So this is the thing like if you think, surprisingly, in a certain way, that's great. But I do feel like it was with wrestling in particular and any kind of like sport in fandom type thing.
It can go into obsession and kind of, yes, you know, just pure insanity really quickly. So this particular thread that I saw that literally replied to this guy, like, took it into the same well, which is like, well, that was an awful 10 minute trip to the nightmare factory. Because it was literally like a 10. I'm sure it was over 10 tweet.
Right. About the fact that Omega is a director or like a talent relation, you know, he's on the, he's a, I don't think he's a part owner, but he's obviously got a backstage job as well. And like he shouldn't be the champion. And here's all the reasons why it was basically just some tween, winching because Moxley isn't the champion anymore.
Of course. Yeah, it's always going to happen. But like the whole reason why you know you get to the point of you can't win is because, you know, you have got arguably the best wrestler in the world without a doubt. The best wrestler in the world.
And even people are winching when he's title finally. Yeah. Yeah. And you might as well not watch it because if it angers you to that degree, because that's the whole thing that we were saying when we took a break from the podcast and everything like that, it's like WWE was like angering me to the point of insanity every week.
They would do something that would make the skin crawl and I'd be like, why am I doing this? Why am I watching it? Which is why now, like when I try and watch something. If I'm not into it, I'll turn it off.
Yeah. Because life is too short. Well, yeah, exactly. Yeah, absolutely.
But the whole, you know, the AW impacting is going to be really interesting. What happens on Tuesday. I mean, it's wargames tonight. You know, you bothered by that.
I mean, obviously not going to stay up and watch it unless I'm awake and I have to complete loss. But I don't think I'd rather watch on the end to quite honest. Yeah, I'm not having the catch the match card is the two wargames marches. It's on this view area against Pac-Man fees group, which dawns on.
And the women's won so team black hearts. So she's actually wrestling now instead of circling around arm against it. Was it crotch? No, I'm just kidding.
Because that's what they do. Don't miss it. You always do on the crotch. But then the other matches are like Gargano, Priest and roughly American title.
Dexter Loomis, Cameron Grimes, and Strath March, Timothy Thatcher against Chumper. So not because I've not seen any build up, so anything so none of them particularly excite me. But who knows? We might watch it the day after and then give us honest opinion next time we do this.
So there's really, there's only a few more things to go for. So I did actually put a tweet out with a poll. I did a 24 hour poll. But we'll see.
Well, that's up to you. Okay, yeah, 12 votes in a few minutes. That's on to you. So the poll for the show this week was with AW and impact wrestling seemingly team.
And well, this makes you want to tune into both shows. So the zero percent, we've got a sticking with impact. 8.3 is sticking with AW. So actually not watching impact.
I don't know how you would not even watch maybe a couple of YouTube highlights when they make turns. Yeah, 60% says they don't watch either. And then 75% says yes, we watch both now. So I think that's, you know, it's definitely, this week I think has definitely been the most exciting in a long time.
Maybe like during the whole COVID era of just what's going to happen, what's next, what this can potentially mean. So yeah, that's cool. I mean, I think like you've got to sort of feel sort of the excitement, tension and pressure that impacts have got right now to put on a show that might get people to watch every week. Because that show has got some potential new eyeballs on it.
So the pressure is on to make a great show. Absolutely. I really great show. You don't be surprised if Hornspottles back as AJ Styles again just to sort of like to get some things imprinted in people's memories so that they have some talking points.
It's more than just the Kenny Omega thing. You know, maybe they've got something up there. Maybe they've got a debut that they want to unveil because you know that the audience is again, potentially quite a bit bigger this week. People will be paying a bit more attention to it.
So I mean, there's got to be some sort of like pressure, nervousness, excitement and sort of point together the very, very best week to show that they can possibly do. Yeah, definitely. And I'm looking forward to it because, you know, Chris has been saying for ages to watch a bit of impacts. I've seen the odd thing and was like, well, you know, it's made it so you have to watch it.
In my opinion, like, especially this week, you know, the week after, who knows, but it's definitely with them being on it, with Omega being on it, it's going to be really interesting to see where they go with it. I think if they're smart, they obviously leave into the last, but they have to like a couple of minutes of getting in the middle so that people watch the whole thing and they don't just go, oh, it's what, the last five minutes or? Yeah, well, they might show that the end into the AW thing, like, because impact retweeted the highlight video of when they were running off. I love it.
I really like it. I just hope it is good nature and it's with everyone's best intentions to help each other out. And I was very naive of me because it is business at the end of the day, but I love the idea of all these wrestling companies coming together and WWE just being out in the wilderness on its own. Absolutely.
And if they try to start getting in on that, it will become immediately obvious that they're taking massive inspiration. They feel left out, they feel like they're losing. Well, that's what, so I mean, you can take it from a, you can take it either way, really. So that's kind of what the big interview, head of War Games with Triple H, where he kind of pissed on the chips a little bit.
But the thing with that is if he came out and said, yeah, we're really good because he did say we're open for business. As long as it makes sense in the long term and not the short term, so not the short term was a jab at them. And you know, he kind of mentioned things like Evolve and ICW and it's like, well, they're, you know, ICW didn't swallow, but they've basically... Clean them out.
Yeah, they've done the UK NXT and completely fucked up with all these people. They even took NXT UK's biggest star and put it on NXT. So I mean, that then is even, you're even spoiling your own brand. Yeah.
Because NXT UK, I've never watched a frame of it. No, not me. And I think that... Apart from the last thing we saw was the second tournament, which didn't go very well anyway, but it was more the...
We'll slash my win in the tag titles. I think that NXT UK is so low on their agenda now because obviously the UK in DC, which was always a lot of his life scene that no one can do anymore, was kind of peeking their interest a little bit about, oh, they're getting all these people, they've got all this massive following. You know, progress... Yeah, you've got these massive, massive, massive shows and they were like, what a piece of it.
It's like, oh, NXT UK, got everybody cleaned out all the top talent and stuff. And now the UK scenes died overnight because of COVID. So they're like, did WWE fuck NXT UK off and then potentially the British scene picks up again? Or did he keep hold of it just so that that doesn't happen?
See, it's one of them where it's hard to kind of say, you know, are they doing it to kill it off? Like, I don't think they're trying to do it to kill it off. I do think they were trying to work alongside. But the problem with creating an NXT UK is people on the indie scene want to be contracted to WWE.
So therefore, you know, they are allowed to still do indie shows, but it's one of them where it's like a few of how between. Because there was an NXT UK takeover that was supposed to be going on in Dublin at the three arena, which we were... Yeah, of course. You know, and obviously that went by the way side because of the whole COVID thing.
And they have got the deal with BT Sport and NXT UK is being filmed out of BT Sport studios. So there is obviously something there that is financially, you know, good for them. Because BT have got, you know, the UK show, they're showing that as well as the network. So I think at the moment it will still be wiping its own ass.
But that's the way they do it. They take something, they turn it into their own thing. And then, you know, what happens after that is what happens after that. And that's the only worry with this.
And that was the only worry with them saying that all the podcast guys saying that potentially impact would be the second show. It's on the face of it. It sounds like a really good idea. But then when you sort of step back a little bit, if it becomes AW-branded and they've bought them out and all that kind of shit, then it's like, right, well, how long is this going to last really?
Because you'll take the good brothers and you'll put them on dynamite. Exactly. And your impact becomes like dark and then dark can become whatever it, you know, because it's for a YouTube show. It's really tough.
And, you know, like the... I don't know, I just think the way that WWE did the UK thing stinks because... I know this is a weird example, but I wrote about it recently for work with Disney when they bought Pixar studios. They bought Pixar and absorbed it, but they absorbed that whole workforce and the Ketsits Pixar studio, so you can get Disney Pixar.
And it's like, where as WWE, like, we support all these, but we're setting up our own thing and we're going to call you Talon and sign them to our deals. And it's like, they could have bought Progress and Ketsits Progress. Yeah. Or any of them.
They could have bought one and gone. You'd carry on operating as you are, but you're part of the WWE family now. You're still got your brand. But they won't do that.
No, because it's, you know, they'll do it for the least cost. So they take Jim out. And it's really, it was arguably the most engaging part of a Progress show. Absolutely.
You know, you go, obviously the wrestling was great as well, but like Jim was so funny and so engaging as a compare. It was the heart of it. Absolutely the heart of it. It had to be an heart away from a wrestling company.
And it's done. But it's done, it's not done, but it's done for a lot of fans who were into it. And then it's like, that company, that was to recoup a load of new fans and try and keep old fans and it becomes hard for them. Absolutely.
And there's also a thing with too many shows to watch as well. So we've had a toy from At Heel Buddy, who's bought about the whole AW Impact thing. He's going to watch them both this week. It remains to be seen if he'll continue watching.
He can barely handle all the wrestling as it is. So I did another show. It is something I don't think I can handle. And I'm at that point because I'm massively behind Renu Jibon Pro Wrestling.
The finals have been set. I think it's Tamatonga and the tag team side, you know, sort of the bully club, guerrilla faction thing, and against, oh God names are so old you do me today. But that moon child and it's not too bad. Okay.
I'm going to get another, do you want a drink? Would you like a lamb's? No, no, no, no, no. I'm not going to drink.
But the finals is kind of set. So I'm going to make sure to watch the finals. Well, there is so much to watch when you're not just, so back in the day when we were complaining about how many shows WWE had. And it was like we would watch NXT and then we'd kind of watch the highlights and we'd write down and maybe watch the pay per views.
That was too much. So if it gets to the, you know, but then, you know, you can say there might be too much, but they're not doing enough to keep you engaged. We've wrote things like Raw and SmackDown. It's a keep us engaged.
So if AW would impact, you can do enough to keep me engaged and to watch it next. So if it impacts as a show, we'll watch the whole show. Yeah, yeah, I want to watch the whole show. I don't just want to watch that segment.
No, I want to watch the whole show. And if you're doing off to keep me interested, then I'll watch it the week after. You know, and choose the Wednesday can be the wrestling because, you know, I think it's just not a pay per view till February. And I saw somebody do like a fantasy book for the potential pay per view.
And it was all matches that I just can't get me around why they were a thing. I mean, the only maps that came out of it that I thought was really interesting is a pattern. I mean, and this is just, I think, Bleacher Report or somebody just putting together like that. They're booking what they would do is a potential fatal for way for the leadership of the inner circle.
Okay. And it was like Jericho, MGF, Wardlow and Samigavira. So it's technically a two on two. So I thought that was interesting because that might be the way it's going.
And then Jericho can do like a six-month stint of the loser, you know, which he's dying into fucking do. But yeah, there is a lot going on. There's a lot going on. There is a Norfolk going on.
Now, we've got some poor merchandise. Nice. That was since it was quite a while ago from at Chris Oryk's day. So I thought I'd read these out because I saw them.
It was like, two years and a half and a half and a half. So I was really scrolling through to try and see if there was any. Any e-mailed them through as well. We had a laugh.
Oh, yeah. I can put them in the box. Yeah. Yeah.
Literally pissing myself on the lead. So there's a four. I'm just going to move. There's four.
Oh my God. So I'm going to save the first one. So a little bit later on. Because it's just absolutely ridiculous.
But the first one is like a children's high chair, which is. I think it's a potty. It's a potty. It looks like a potty to me.
Is it a potty? Maybe. See when you slide out the scenes. Oh my God.
It is. It's potty isn't it? Oh my God. So it's taking a shit on Hulk Hogan's lap.
Gross. Absolutely. It's how you start best if she's off really going. It is.
Yeah, absolutely. That's disgusting. There's one that's just like an awful sting thing. So it's like, and it's a hat as well.
I thought it was just an ornament, but it's a hat. So it's sting basically riding a rocket. But it just looks awful. And it doesn't look anything like a sting.
And he's basically just holding onto a rocket. And that's apparently a hat. It's just a fucking absolute no reason as well. Completely madness.
Stone Cold Steve Austin branded condoms. They got a little like tagline to them. It's a reason. If you want some, give me a hell yeah.
Gross. Okay. That's not really. That's not really.
Okay. So that's still what this picture says. But it is like a condom wrapper. And it does say Austin 3 16.
Give me a hell yeah. And it has for some reason inside the condom box. It's like a little squirt. I don't know.
It's like a square box. It's got like stone cold Steve Austin's height weight. Finisher signature. I don't know.
I think it's just like a tailor to tape on a Johnny wrapper. It's just absolutely an insult. But he does say play safe on it. And the tagline for the article says, Strange Bit of merchandise, but at least he's encouraging users to.
Practise safe. You just have to say, if you want some, give me a hell yeah. It's ironic really because the amount of steroids popping about. I don't think there's many vessels actually having sex at all.
With their micro penises. They're just shrunken heads of penises. It's just shrunken heads of penises. It's just shrunken heads of penises.
It's just a hell yeah. It's true though. Anyway, at least we know it works. Now the last one is particularly baffling and may make certain people in this particular community say okay.
It's an DX Yamaka. Shit in hell. Imagine saying that for Friday night dinner in your fucking DX Yamaka. Well, this one here is imagine getting this out at your bar mitzvah.
And when you become an among you tell everyone you've got two words for them. Amazing. A DX Yamaka. I love it.
That is particularly shy. I mean, some of them. So we've had so many tweets about this bad merchandise and like that. And the one that Kyle did about Scotty's too hot here is like, do you want to see my worm?
