132. Carol with special guest Jackson Cooper

"Just when you think it can't get any worse, you run out of cigarettes." We watched Carol (2015) with MTMUG Superstar Jackson Cooper and we'll take the train set! Cate Blanchett is giving us EVERYTHING as Carol the bored housewife/secret lesbian in 1950's New York. Rooney Mara's Therese is giving us wide-eyed innocence, even though she really knows exactly what she's doing.  The costumes, the hair, the setting all reeled us in (we're once again "transported) but the melodrama, the old timey dialogue and the New England WASPy character names are just the icing on the cake.  Let's also give it up for Grand High Lesbian Sarah Paulson as the best friend/ex lover she was born to play and Jake Lacey once again playing America's problematic boyfriend.
