133. Elune Is A Villain?

Welcome to Live Life 4, the podcast that explores where we've been and where we may go next in the World of Warcraft. What do I want to believe, Live Floor Episode 133? The show that may be jumping the shark. Each episode will check in, have some laughs, just like that one we just had.

And talk all about the lore of Warcraft 1 or 2 topics at a time. My name is Jen and I haven't decided what my midlife crisis should be, but I'm about to figure that out. And today, I joined by someone that has already entered her villain era. It's the Shadow Priest, Ally.

Yes, yes I have. So, Ally, how you been? What's been up to? In my villain era, of course.

I have been up to. For the first time in multiple years, I finally got to do Day of the Dead stuff. What was that like? Isn't that a whole lot to it?

You go find a ghost, you get some bread, and you get an achievement. Okay, did you do a bunch of punch stuff? I'll get to that, don't worry. It's a whole reason for this.

Alright, bunch of punch. And you get the cool pet, which the pet really was in it for, the dancing skeleton guy, because that puts a bit somewhere and everything. Really cool looking. Like him a lot.

And you get to cool Ocofostum for like 12 hours, something so that's really cool. But you do get the wrestling outfits and everything, which is cool. I do a lot. You can get achievements for getting so many wins, wearing one of those.

We fight someone else and wearing one of those. And sometimes you get reminded that there's still good random people out there in the world as opposed to all the toxicity and the assholes and stuff that are out there. No, I was there was someone in Stormwind, and this all happens near like the Sim turn everything. And I was hanging out there.

He had one of his outfits on and was trying to get people to fight. And so I finally I bought them, put one on, went to go punch him. He beat me right away. Like I was it was ridiculous.

And so I'm like, okay, let me I'd like rearrange some buttons and stuff. Because I never attached my action button to an actual keybind or anything. I just click on it because I don't know why this I'm weird. That's not the you say you'll never keep out the extra action button.

No, it's just there. So I click it. And so I have so as a healer, as a healer, I was throwing things bound already. Like, okay, the whole thing.

So but to be able, I was like, I use my mouse to turn and everything. But it was hard to do that and click the button and move enough to the survival in this fight. So I took some time, got a bound, tried again, he kicked my ass again. So I waited a little bit and he put the outfit back on.

I'm like, okay, fine, try again, he kicked my ass again. And then after a few moments, he wished for me, he was like, are you trying to get the achievement for the wins? I was like, yes. And this particular achievement that he was also going for was to get 20 wins.

And so we worked out in whispers that we would just take turns, letting the other person win. Oh, win trading. Like this. Yeah, which is a random person.

It was great. So I don't. That's the best round of fun of the PvP community you get banned from win trading. Well, we're not.

It's not. It's the day of the day. It's super not the PvP. So really, it was a really, really bad joke.

And I just ran a person. It was all cool. And we just we did the thing. So I was sometimes nice to get those reminders that there's still good randos out there.

You know, who the real good randos are. It's the people that like show up. You know, the real you remember I think it's the other day of the day and it's I think it's children's week or one of those random weird holidays where you have to like, I think it's lovers in the air. Or you have to like blow a kiss or something like that at a specific race class combination.

There's a few of those. There's like the blind the kiss ones. The one as as a female dwarf. Yeah, that was one of the.

That was one of the popular ones. There's one for the harvest one. Should we shoot the turkey rifle? No, yeah.

So getting turkey fad. I think there's one for the bunny ears. And I think there's one for the jakyllanner heads. Yeah, I just remember that whoever would show up as like the dwarf rogue, for example, we love you.

Yeah, you're the OG, you're the real MVP. The cool ones like me would post in chat, you know, on the I have worked for age or where I'm at being. Don't get your one of our five or whatever. Whatever holiday we're going on.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's true. Yeah. So other than that, we tried BRD on heroic, which was a mistake.

We didn't even get that some first boss. There's why back to we went back to the new bar palace on a rogue and the first boss has more health than the queen does. It's crazy. Like it's there's still some tuning that needs to happen.

We also had some weird missing some people, I kind of think, but you can only run it with 15 people anyways. So we need to be missing some people. It was do not go well. We tried many times to not go well.

So that might be a future us problem. And that's about it. We're doing a lot of rumble for the anniversary event and Halloween event and in game doing a lot for the Halloween event and the anniversary event. And got the metaphor for the anniversary of an which is cool.

I won Mount Meade yesterday. That was cool. Oh, for that. Yeah, just just chilling.

I'm just doing my thing when I have time to play and that's about it. Really, what have you been up to? Well, a lot in game. I have not had a chance to play.

We did not get, well, the typical raid night for me is Thursday. Well, what was Thursday last Thursday? Yeah, that's Halloween. That's what I did.

Right. Yeah, so I was on candy duty. I was handing up candy. It was amazing.

I loved every moment of it. I would go sprinting towards the door when I was knocking on the door and like sliding my socks with the candy bowl. So, yeah, that's how I spent my evening and it was just amazing. Because on top of that, not only did we just pass out candy, we also watched a very good movie.

I just hold up very well. It's a weird movie, but it's definitely entertaining to watch. It was Eddie in the cruisers. I haven't watched that.

Probably not. I don't think so. It's some like weird 80s movie. It was great though.

Yeah, we had a great Halloween. I know that. Just been busy working for that. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, we recorded a little slightly not normal day because yeah reasons. For reasons. Mental health reasons.

Yeah, if we tried to honestly if Ali and I tried to record on Tuesday. We all know what Tuesday is everyone here to make sure you vote. We'll wait for everyone else. But a patron.

Yeah, so yeah, we wouldn't be able to pay attention. So yeah, we were like, let's record one day. Well, let's be honest. I'm the weirdo.

What's going to happen? You're not a weirdo because I have the thought too. I was like, well, let's get the answer to monitors. I feel like I'll have like some tracking on one monitor and then Jen on the other monitor.

Then I might have to minimize it because they'll be distracting and I might go insane. And then a little like a couple hours later, as we messaged me suggesting tonight, I was like, yeah, that's probably for the best. Yeah, that is for the best. Yeah, so fingers crossed for those in the future.

At least apart, right? But there are a few things we've got. No clue what's coming. And one of those things is the true villain of the story.

Who's the antagonist really pulling all the strings? Hard to believe it's Zalotath as she holds the rather ominous title of Harbinger, right? Which means she's the one setting the stage for whoever this true bad guy is. Or at the very least another villain.

So, Ally, who do you think the villain will be? Probably just out of light bulb moments. For the world's soul saga, I have gone back and forth because if they're going to have other story beyond the world's soul saga, they need to leave some things open for it, which was my light bulb, and that's going to be some future episode down the road. But for the world's soul saga, my go-to guess this whole time has been a void lord of some type.

Maybe it's just someone else, but some type of void lord. And it's going to be like, oh, it's the last titan because they all going to eat by a void lord in this one. I mean, Azaroth's going to be the last titan. Azaroth's going to take the void lord's ass.

Yes. Like I said from the game, Azaroth's going to wake up. Going to pull the sword out of her back. No, no, no.

I love it. All right. So, the mince is a void lord. Yeah.

Yeah, so I mean, maybe I mean this with the, you know, we're kind of being told up front, you know, set the stage like, hey, the empire's really bad. It just happens to be the empires of the void. And void lord, the dimensions, you know, because that was one of the very first cutscenes we got for the prologue. Prologue, you know, oh, oh, boy boy, Logan's walker going, hey, you know void lord's a path.

Right. It's true. They are. Yeah.

Yeah. Well, all right. You might be on something. You might be on something.

Well, today I'll be making the case for one possible candidate and we may be revisiting the exact topic in the future, but with new suspects to consider. And today our villain will be looking into is alone. Okay. All right.

All right. All right. Take a breath. It doesn't have to be alone because we'll also be exploring E&R as well.

There's enough overlap between the two of them that it's worth investigating them together. The sister sisters. Kelly and day. Have a lot to answer for.

Something today. All right. Okay. First, let's discuss how a loon or anyone align with the realm of life who'd ever be seen as the bad guy because I can already hear it.

We're all collectively yelling at me as if I can actually hear it. And this time I can. You're all yelling gin, you adorable sexy man. We're all alive.

How can this titan or moon goddess all about live and be bad? That's crazy person talk. I'm not a You're a You're a I'm afraid to break this news to you a being that is all life and I mean all life all the time can be bad. So we're all mortal, right?

I mean, we're all gonna die, but what if we didn't have to do that? What if we just never die? That's pretty great, right? But for how long?

A hundred years? Sure. Ten thousand. Okay.

If I look as good as Saranda. Sure. How about a million? Maybe a billion years?

All right. Okay. What's going on? What is going on?

Perhaps a trillion years. Life sounding fun for a trillion years? Oh, no, it's gonna kind of creepy when you think about it. Like it's like a weird like, I don't know.

I like this. My brain's not. I don't know what's happening. This is weird.

This is weird. Okay. I admit I don't know what life would be like if I just don't die. But in most science fiction or in similar fantasy settings immortality is often seen as a curse in the fact that our stories, our lives have an end gives us perspective on existence.

It cannot be fathomed if death was a factor if a loon and or you know, bless us with true immortality and not this. I've been stabbed and now I'm dead even though I'm immortal. Immortal. No, no.

I mean you used to have me and I look at you like you're silly. Immortal. You know, kind of like in Hercules. It's like you can't get a gat.

Yeah, like that. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah. Now where was I?

Blah, blah, blah, blah. All right. So give it enough time. This blessing may feel like a curse.

Now a less philosophical reason why they may be the bad guy is life can also just go nutty and ruin a perfectly good planet like Draenor. And I had to make them out and go beat up the too much life ever grow. So what do you think, Allie? Does this make you look a sense?

Maybe a look of sense when I'm not when I put the whole question your sanity bit on the back burner and hear what you have said so far. There is a little bit of sense to it. I think you're crazy, but I understand where you're coming from. Oh, I also think I'm possibly crazy with this theory, but I'm going to entertain it anyways because this is what it's fun.

Yeah. Okay. All right. So so it's theory and theories.

Steve. All right. Okay. So let's start parking.

In this theory, see if it stands up scrutiny. First up, Elune's sister is the winter queen. And there can actually means that Elune and the winter queens very purpose was to maintain the cycle of life and death. What does that really mean in this fantasy setting here?

IRL we know what that means. Life consumes other life to stay in life. We assume it's life to sustain ourselves and deproter and future into the soil plants used to grow. But like we thought, it's big circle of life.

Right. Beautiful. Please leave that in. Oh, it's a stain.

But in art and we were presented with a cycle of wild gods that go to the Emerald Dream after making a pit stop in art and we were they use the essences of the dead in the form of anima to fuel the big-ass tree they call the heart of the forest and all these wild gods that died but need to go back. For them were nothing but batteries keeping the operation going and explained to me how new souls are created if that's what carries the anemones to the different realms. Anyways, but I digress. Yeah, let's not go there.

That could just be weird. All right. That's the whole spiral right there. Now that's that's different.

That's different. Okay. So how can Elune have aspirations for life becoming the dominant force in the cosmos if she's working directly with the queen? Well, the first thing that we need to point out is they don't always get along.

True. True. Sure. We seem to have to help mend some of those wounds back in Shadowlands, but it seems like there's more to the resentment than just what we may have fixed because the grimoire of the Shadowlands says in the eons that followed their parting, signs of resentment and pain began to mar the placid visage of the winter queen, especially when she heard the name of her sister uttered within her forest.

This is Eon's that's was on pointing out because Eon's a resentment. So I mean, can we just fix that on our little Shadowlands to hear a little shtint? That seems. Yeah, it's a long time.

Yeah. So like there's some light. I don't know. Like this.

And this is just like a if Blizzard wrote it, we'd go, OK, all right, I see it. Right? You know, we're not going to like completely go. I mean, I mean, I mean, obviously, there's going to be some night out players.

I'd be like, Jen, you cancel. You cancel. You cancel. The moon is the best.

We love. So that's OK. That's all right. I'm not even saying I believe this myself.

I'm just saying what. And what if it's fun to explore? OK, all right. So I'm going to break.

She's a little old. So is there anything else I'm missing that may lead you to leave that life is just a cool cosmic force that I should remove from the suspects that life will be ultimately. I don't think so. And to your point, there's a reason why there's checks and bounces.

There's a reason why you need the cosmic forces to all bounce each other out because once one becomes too big and bad, then it overtakes the other pretty quickly. It's not always a good thing. So they're might as crazy as it is. Back.

Why was I think it is there might be something to this to be considered? OK. All right. All right.

So I'm waiting over. I'm waiting over. Maybe. I mean, that's that's a big word right there.

Just slow down. So slow down. All right. OK.

So don't worry because even here in the notes, I say anyway, I'm not hanging my hat on this theory. Just yet. This doesn't mean it's dead because we have talked about E and R. Now, it feels like a safe assumption to me that she's allied with life because of the loon.

Right there. Everybody. Right. We also know that it was in a loon that gave you are the next topic of discussion.

The world tree. Aluna here. Now, if you're not aware, a loon here was the world tree that alone gifted E and R during the time that the Titans, the Black Empire were war. Right.

There's a big little kerfuffle going on right there. And you know, a loon was like, Hey, I got you present. And you know, I was like, this is the best. So in our plan, the world tree and hope that the influence of life would drive away the black empire.

But I'm a tool. So what you know, I had done and rip the world tree from the grass of Azeroth and bellowed. Yes, it's not or dark. It just isn't.

I'm sure he's just like that too. Yeah, he's like, you know, how many times do I have to tell you? This is not orderly. I mean, just listen, that's why he didn't get it off.

I mean, he's not he's not the big burly guy got Cosgrover. I was girl. I got the roots. I'm just saying.

He'd get him. He'd get him. I mean, Mr. Time body or something like that.

He's he needs to hit the gym because he didn't get the roots. Right. Didn't get him. So why this upset?

I'm not so much. Like, why would he go absolutely bonkers or play a tree? Because it's not order. What's my said?

No, like in all reality, it's a really big deal to on and through all because he is all about that order life. I mean, these talking about someone from the realm of life, potentially being a villain. We've been finding out that. It's not all that great.

So it's not all that great. So it's entirely possible that, you know, I'm just once order order order and at some point, you could be a villain because it's kind of starting to be that. Yeah. Yeah.

So kind of what I'm getting at here and all this craziness is he was fine with life, right? Like he's fine with. Yeah. Yeah.

He's fine with, you know, the natural life on Azeroth and things like that. But when she planted something from the realm of life, because that's specifically a world tree is like a clipping from, you know, the mother world tree or whatever. And he's from the realm of life or in real dream, right? Yeah.

He went like, no, no, no, no, no, no, absolutely not. So, I mean, yeah, like, because he's one of their like edicts in freaking chronicle from the perspective of Titans was that they were supposed to nurture and foster life on the planet. So they were, like I said, they were fine with some of it as long as they control it. And I think that's, I think that, yeah, he can control something that's quite so powerful to run from their own life.

Yeah, because it's got to start. In fact, it's things that start impacting what's going on in here. Okay. Be ready for the next bit.

Bring it on. Okay. Well, the next important thing to remember too is world trees have something in place. Common with old gods.

Now, they're not as large as old gods, but they do purl their roots deep into Azeroth. And if I'm a tool was upset by world tree being planted here directly from the realm of life, because that's where Loon got the branch. Like I said, he may have been concerned that if life was allowed to influence Azeroth as much as Elune here probably would have, it may have spelled disaster for whatever his own plan for the world's whole woods. And we have to point out the fact that the Harinear have been tasked possibly by Elune herself to safeguard the roots that I'm a tool failed to repel might mean they still be part of her and in our plan.

Okay. Yup. I agree with Elune gave Enor the world tree plant. Was Elune just being nice or was she using Enor to give her and her life Pantheon an in on Azeroth?

Or were they coke spiriters in this plan? Maybe a little bit of both, honestly, because it absolutely makes sense that they would like to give the life Pantheon an in Azeroth. But at the same time, we've seen where Enor and Ameth will potentially butt heads here and there. And you know, even when the Titans died and stuff right, their spirits went to different, you know, the keepers all in that right.

Enor pieced out her own little area of the side of your own thing. Her own plan and everything. Right? Like, she didn't go to Freire or anything.

No, like she left. She pieced out. So we've seen that like she doesn't actually beat to the drum of order necessarily. So it could be a little bit of both honestly.

You may have a little coke and spiriter with her love, Elune, maybe. I would love a good like power couple like to show up and just be like, Elune and Enor showing up together and be like freaking power bomb on you. I'm a tool. Take his ass out and then like Azeroth like tags in like cool, but you're not like actually influenced me with your life too much.

Punching face. I'm like the inspiration of balance. It's gonna be like everything on the one just kept in playing it literally kept playing it by your powers combined. What do you think though?

I mean, do you think it could be a little bit of both coke and spiriters? I mean, I'm going obviously going back and forth on this and it's gonna depend on if we learn anything new, right? Because I'm just making a whole bunch of crap up. What is going on with the heart here?

Did Elune actually go like, Hey, hey, this little subset of Dark Trolls, please go head over to these roots and they got there. The roots kind of gave them a little bit of like an up res, you know, as it usually being, you know, in direct contact with a very powerful entity of, you know, some type of a, you know, cosmic force. I imagine that the the roots would have actually would have caused the heart ear to change, for me, I have to be my guest. Very similar to how well the eternity changed the trolls into the night elves.

Right. Right. So was it a loom that sent in there? I think that would add a lot of information to my speculations around this, that there's something going on there where she's directly involved.

Yeah. But how much of Enar was involved other than just like maybe maybe what's going on here and this would be fun too. Maybe Elune, they need Enar, but like so that she's got an in, like order as well. Right.

So she can influence it from this side. She's working politics. Right. She's also like, clearly involved in the realm of light to with the, with the moon goddess and all that.

Oh, she's crazy powerful. Crazy powerful. But anyway, you know, she's like, Hey, here's the tree plant this warming. And she's like, Oh, yeah, I love this babe.

Thanks. And then she plants it. And then, you know, we know what happened. Maybe that was all part of Elune's plan.

It could be. We just don't know what her plan is yet. Right. Right.

Okay. Do you think Elune knew all along that Azeroth was the prime world soul? Do you think that's why the night elves or Kaldorai were her? Favorite children?

Maybe we found out in Shadowlands that she has been interacting with others. Another plan is not kind of thing, right? Because there's been multiple night warriors, multiple places and everything. So the fact that they were her favorite children and stuff, there has to be reason for it.

Now, if it was just for her own devices versus it being because Azeroth is the prime soul and their special and stuff, I don't know. But maybe it can be a little bit of both. It does make me wonder how she would know that Azeroth was the prime soul. Like if it was just a vibe she got, like, this place is special.

I like this place. Or is there something there? Yeah, I got nothing on that. I don't know how the Gatorivration, I don't know how she interacted with other entities.

I don't know if she's somehow traversing the Grey to Dark Beyond via the twisting nether or something. I don't know how she's influencing all these different entities because it seems like, oh, one of the big things with the Titans is, oh, but they can't get there. They can't get there, right? It's like, I need to open a portal to get there.

So how is Elune interacting with all of these different planets if she doesn't have some type of method to travel? No, maybe she is actually in bed with the freaking with chaos too, because she's got access to the twist together to get. I'm just saying, this is crazy stuff here. I know.

We got Yarn. It's fun though. How is she doing these people? I'm just saying if Titans got to make a portal, why is she just like, I'm over here.

What's going on over there? It's weird. Maybe she has some way to travel through the Grey Dark Beyond in easy ways. I mean, the stars or something.

Oh, oh, she's related to light, right? Moon got his light there. She got the light of Elune and all that kind of stuff, right? Maybe she's got she's tapped in with the Naru because I got their little interdimensional ships.

Maybe she's true. Maybe she's bipping and popping on one of those. It would, yes. This is the wackyest episode I love.

It's the crazy part too. It's like, well, this is never going to happen, but it's actually logical there. All right. Now, do you think the world trees could be the realm of life's version of an old God?

Are they infusing Azeroth with the essence of life to turn her into a life aligned being? Yes. This one? This one?

100% on. I had never. Now, the second part about the world trees infusing Azeroth essence of life to turn her into life aligned being, that's something I can definitely see and kind of see for a while. But I never made the comparison of world trees and old gods, even though it totally makes sense.

But yeah, I'm this I am on board with. All right. Now, one of the things that I was really digging into is like, okay, okay, everyone, I get it. Put your pitchforks down.

Put them down. Or put those torches out, but you know, keep the starter fuel to the side. If you need it, if you feel like that brings comfort, you're gonna need it. All right.

We got one more final question about what's going on here. And let's assume I'm wrong. Right? Let's assume I'm wrong, which is very easy to do.

I'm wrong. Most of the time with my speculations. Okay. Alloon is benevolent.

They're gonna be a bad guy. But what about someone else on the Pantheon? If Alloon has others serving along with her, as we're assuming she does, why can't it just be one of the other patron Pantheon of life members? That's a patron.

That's funny. What do I mean? Well, Winter Queen is not nor does any, at least I'm aware of currently think she will be kind of a bad guy. You don't have any guesses that she should live in the background.

Right? We're going to. She's safe. Yeah, I think she's safe.

I was suspicious in the beginning of her, but I think she's safe. Okay. Right. So, but Danny D.

He's also on that whole different story. I'm just saying he is also on the Pantheon of death. Right? Alloon is as we all know kind of speculated to be on Pantheon of life.

Right? Cool. All that good stuff. And obviously, so it was a vault.

Right? He was also, you know, jailer jackass on that good stuff. Right? Does that make sense?

Like, I'm not saying it has to be a Loon. It could be someone else. It totally can't. And that's one of the things I'm eager to learn in time, obviously not there now, but in time, is more about the other Pantheons and who is on the Pantheons who has to see at the table.

I mean, you know, horse and what's going on because we know the Loon. Cool. That's it. Are there others that are part of the Pantheon?

Like, well, we got a guest. We got a guest. That's my next question. Do you think a Loon's brother, Anshay, the tour and God representing the sun, is a member of the Pantheon of life as well?

Obviously, it may not be named Anshay because Loon's name was like, Lu Shother or something like that. Right? Right. So maybe their name isn't Anshay, but maybe it's something similar.

You know, the Loon's counterpart that represents the sun. Right? But can you feel the role of Judas? I don't know.

Maybe. But I'm leaning towards the know. But that could also just be because of connecting it to the Torin and their sense of honor and whatnot. But we all seem that they're not great either or sometimes.

And it's, but I just, I have a hard time knowing if Anshay would be the problem here, but I feel like it's also a lot we don't know about Anshay. Anshay. Anshay. I don't know.

I like it. I actually heard it like, on a Blee, Rob, dumbbell, I'm a little red. The Sun God. Sun God.

Sun God. That's the one. That's the one. All right.

Well, are you ready for a little bit of fun? Because this was a, this is like a wild card section. So we're going to give you some serious speculation. Some like off the wall.
