133. Split-Brain

from Infinite Rabbit Hole · host Jeremy Socha

Split-Brain is the title given to the research into whether each hemisphere of the brain can learn independently from the other. A neurologic highway mending the two hemispheres called the Corpus Callosum was long believed to be a communication pathway that ultimately links the two sides together, making a cognitive individual known as, You. Many experiments were trialed in order to essentially temporarily shut down (or put to sleep) one hemisphere of a brain, while directly studying responses to different stimuli in the other hemisphere. Long story short, this propelled Michael Gazzaniga and his mentor Dr. Roger Sperry into many different experiments that eventually led to surgically separating the hemispheres of living human subjects leading to a massive explosion of incredible knowledge about our consciousness. Or, BOTH of our consciousnesses. You heard me right travelers, essentially, there are two of you. One in the left hemisphere of your brain, that we are all aware of. This is essentially, YOU. This is the side that is responsible for conversation and other tasks that we rely on every day. And one in the Right hemisphere of your brain that is and has been muted, blocked, and hidden away for their entire life. Don’t believe me? Good. Let me help change your mind. Welcome Back to Infinite Rabbit Hole!-Jeremy

Rabbit Holes Podcast Rabbit Holes Podcast The internet is a weird and interesting place. Care to join us?Andi and Elise take weekly trips down rabbit holes they find online, and share with listeners just how crazy things get. Explicit Tales From The Rabbit Hole Mick West Tales from the Rabbit Hole is an interview-style podcast focusing on people whose lives have been affected by the conspiracy theory rabbit hole. Guests will include both former and current believers in a variety of conspiracy theories, as well as debunkers, skeptics, and the investigators of those theories. I’m Mick West, a debunker. I wrote the book Escaping the Rabbit Hole – How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories using Facts, Logic, and Respect. This book came from my experiences running Metabunk – a debunking forum. Over the years I realized simply presenting corrections to people is not enough. We need effective communication, and we can’t do that if we don’t listen to and talk with each other. I’m hoping this podcast will help bridge that gap. Explicit The Midnight Cinema Screening Unkn  Welcome to The Midnight Cinema Screening. This is basically the place where we hang out after midnight and talk about movies and TV shows that stuck with us… the good, the bad, the weird, and the ones that probably shouldn’t exist but somehow do. I also talk about true crime. If you love horror, cult classics, creepy shows, and the occasional random deep dive into something strange, you’re in the right place. Nothing here is super scripted or overly serious. It’s more like sitting around with friends after a late-night movie, breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and the moments that made you pause the screen and go, “Wait… what just happened?”Some episodes we’ll be reviewing movies. Some we’ll be talking about TV episodes. And sometimes we’ll just go down a rabbit hole about the weird history behind something we watched. So if you like late-night movie talk, dark stories, and conversations that feel a little unfiltered Explicit E Squared Podcast E Squared Podcast The E Squared podcast is hosted by Ethe1st and OnlyRandz. Join our weekly conversations every week as we go on tangents and down rabbit holes to find conclusions that are either super wrong or super unique. Explicit
