In the interview, Satriani is asked what exercises he recommends to students. His response was, essentially, I'm not entirely sure I'm qualified to answer that because a lot of these kids on Instagram "play so much better than I could ever play in terms of speed, dexterity and complexity". He followed that incredible compliment with the suggestion, "Young people have to understand they should spend more time playing music for people and with people because that’s our job as musicians". Do they though?
