134: How To Be More Profitable Per Hour In Your Fitness Business

from Gym Business Coach Podcast · host Tim Lyons and Randy Angsten

Most gym owners don’t think about maximizing their revenues and increasing their profitability initially when they open their gym. They just want to open and start helping people. However, at some point, as they get deeper into the business, they start thinking more about the value of their time and how they can maximize their profitability. This might lead to transitioning your fitness model from what you are currently offering to a more profitable one. Some gym owners are fearful of changing their model even when their current one is not serving them. They have some self-limiting beliefs. They are afraid of the unknown. In any gym, you only have so many hours to train clients. At our gym, we do it from five in the morning to nine in the evening. That is 13-hour time slots minus the noon slot where we don’t do any training. Maximizing your revenue during the hours you are open will increase your profitability, which will help you serve your clients even better. In our case, semi-private training makes the most sense for maximizing revenue per hour.Tune in to this episode and get to hear more about the different fitness models and their revenue per hour. You will also learn more about how we can help you transition from one model to another to increase your profitability.Key TakeawaysDo you know the value of your time as a gym owner (01:26)Why some gym owners are afraid to transition to a more profitable fitness model (03:06)Different fitness models and their revenue per hour numbers (06:15)How the semi-private training offers the client the best experience while being the most profitable (08:06)Why you should be looking at your profitability versus gross income harder at this time (13:42)All gym owners should focus on profitability to be able to serve more clients (15:28)Cons of semi-private training model (19:25)It’s not about the number of clients but the revenue (26:01)Additional Resources:www.pfmarketingsolutions.com/summitwww.PFMarketingSolutions.com/Callwww.PFMarketingSolutions.com/Automationwww.CLACourse.comwww.ProFitGPS.netMarketing Talk with Fitness Professionals Facebook Grouphttps://PFMarketingSolutions.com/Datawww.ProfitGPS.com--If you are interested in a free audit for your gym, visit http://bit.ly/free_gym_audit--You can find out more about Tim and the strategies covered in this episode by checking out our website.--Would you rather watch the video version instead?Head over to our YouTube channel to watch this episode by going here--If you don’t already have my book, get your copy FREE here.--Connect with Tim:Schedule A CallFacebookInstagramLinkedInConnect with Randy:FacebookInstagram--Subscribe to the podcast on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, YouTube or anywhere else you listen to your podcasts. If you haven't already, please rate and review the podcast on Apple Podcasts!
