Through it all, Matt also tells some amazing stories of his time in the Brooklyn-based cabaret-punk collective The World/Inferno Friendship Society, which honesty can be a whole other episode. He was a long-time member of the Brooklyn-based cabaret-punk collective The World/Inferno Friendship Society. He toured (US, Canada, and Europe) with them extensively and recorded/co-wrote/arranged a few singles/7"'s and a full-length record with them as keyboardist. He's a published music critic and poet and has worked as a session musician and sideman for many, many Philadelphia-based artists. He currently fronts the heavy psych/garage/doom/hardcore-adjacent band Vice Trip, is finishing up a book about his time in the World/Inferno Friendship Society, as well as a book of poems. He also has his own Substack (of course he does) called Hopeful Monsters. He lives in Southern New Jersey, for reasons passing understanding.
